Bowser castle n64 is frightening accurate.

They're not that bad at all, I'm pretty surprised.

The game definitely feels a lot slower than Mario Kart though. I know it's kart racing but even at like 30mph in Mario Kart you still felt a pretty decent sense of speed.

EDIT: Also that music was pretty fucking rad.

I'm not sure, but I think you can set the kart speed (and size, and other stuff) on a per-track basis using some kart modifier tools. I watched the tutorials, but it's pretty hard to understand everything you can do with it :P (I have the beta)

Nothing will beat the original I think, Mario Kart is just such a perfect game IMHO, the mechanics have so much depth in it, so much finesse. The tracks look well made and really resemble it, but don't have the same feeling and details like the original.

Crash Team Racing beat Mario Kart pretty badly.

But yeah, recently not much as compared to original Mario Kart. Which is a shame because if the mechanics on this or ModNation Racers was airtight then it'd be blowing Mario Kart out of the water with a suite of customization that's almost unparalleled.

But then of course if the mechanics were the same or similar. It could cause some tension between Sony and nintendo.
Copyrights and stuff.

Also, yh crash tag team racing was a pretty cool game. Ps2 times were good

No, no. Not Crash Tag Team Racing... Crash Team Racing. Best kart racer ever made IMO.

I tried out Modnation Racers on PSP earlier and was kind of horribly disappointed. I don't really have the kind of interest in racing games to be really completionist and unlock a ton of shit like in Little Big Planet, kind of a bummer really.

I might have to pick this up, though, if there are some sweet tracks made in it. That Green Hill Zone looked pretty sweet.

The amount of time, effort, and dedication people put into LBP (and other games like it) never fails to impress me. I'm still waiting for someone to recreate LBP within LBP, but this will do for now.

QFT! Expected great things of Modnation Racers, but it felt too clunky and the menus were completely atrocious. Again same thing I already said here, no where near the Mario Kart feeling. I would REALLY love a Mario Kart killer on the PSV, I would buy it in a heartbeat then. Just so much fun to be had with those games....
