I'm getting a 3DS this weekend, and I want to know if any of the "Ambassador" titles have been released as normal VC content for the 3DS yet. I read Zelda NES has, and I'm sure the rest will -eventually- (( It'd be so bad buisness not to sell Metroid Fusion, for example )) be on there, but...

Well, you get the rest.

There's only a few NES titles that are released that are also Ambassador titles:

-Super Mario Bros
-Metroid
-NES Open Tournament Golf
-Donkey Kong Jr.
-The Legend of Zelda

No GBA titles are non-Amassador yet.

The only NES titles released are

NES Golf
Super Mario Brothers
Metroid
Legend of Zelda
and Donkey Kong Jr.

personally, I wouldnt buy any of them, I hate NES games because of too many damn limitations (why the hell cant I go back in a level on SMB?) and I also wouldn't count on the GBA vc being released anytime soon, which is a damn shame since they could use an update. But the Game Gear titles have a great emulator I hear.

play the lost levels and you could go back several levels if you wanted...but anyway yeah the gba games, i wouldnt count on those for a while yet, i get the feeling they are being saved to either spike up sales when needed or more nes/gb games are planned to put up front first

Nintendo did announce back then that they had no plans to release the GBA games to public, so it might take a while until they're actually availiable to the public, like one or two more years. z.z

Actually, it might be more accurate to say that Nintendo has no plans to release the Ambassador GBA games to the public. Which means GBA VC games may still come for the 3DS in the future, but Ambassador titles will most probably remain exclusive. Which means it's good that more popular GBA games weren't made Ambassador so that they may yet be released in the future.

If that's the case it'll be a shame for some of Metroid and Zelda fans since there's both games that were in the ambassadors were great tittles (personally I loved those games back in the gba era and still do).
Oh, and FE too. =3

Somewhat unrelated, but have you ever played SMB Dx on the GBC? It's an amazing port of SMB which adds saving, level selection upon completing the game, challenge mode, unlockable Jap SMB2 built in, and a bunch of other cool extras. The only downside is the screen is rather zoomed in because of the GBC's lower resolution compared to NES. I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't released in on the eShop. If you have a flash cart and lameboy, I suggest checking it out.

I would cry if they never released Metroid Fusion: Not gonna lie.

Here's to hope they release Metroid: Zero Mission for the eShop! Even though I am an Ambassador....

Trust me, you won't regret it! my favorite gbc game by far!
I second this motion to death! Smb DX was my first mario game EVAR. I played through everything, tried to collect everything, tried to find all the secrets, gah this needs to be a 3ds vc... or at least added to the smb vc as dlc. (so many abbreviations..)

Ah, that's my dream... NES quality SMB with SMB Dx features... :)

I'd imagine it's far more likely to see SMB DX than Classic NES Series SMB.

Nintendo seems so far to be sticking to their guns on their decision to keep the GBA Ambassador Titles strictly for those who ate it at $250 (like me.) The NES stuff is trickling out, and better yet you even have non-ambassador titles like PunchOut up there too.

I know, I was just using a GBA game for example that just happened to be SMB since SMBDX was brought up. Nintendo has no interest in releasing GBA games it appears other than to ambassadors at this time was the point so the GBC game would be the more likely of a choice.
