Google Chrome is one of the world’s most advanced and popular web browser, used by millions of people around the world on desktop and notebook computers, as well as mobile devices running the Android OS. Until now, users of the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad had been left in the dark in terms of an official Chrome release, and instead had to settle for Apple’s Mobile Safari or other alternative browsers on the App Store.

The req's include iOS 4.3, so iPhone 3G and below and iPod Touch 3G 8GB and below are all unsupported.

Also: Google Drive is out for iOS, joining Google Chrome. @yusuo Thanks for confirming!

I wasn't sure if Google Drive was new or not. Thanks for confirming! :)

I can also confirm Chrome on iOS exists because I have it. :P

Wonderful! Now Google can invade my privacy even more!
Time to dig into the .ipa file!
> :D

I'll report back once I rip it apart.

Here's a video for the basic looks of it ^ (Audio didn't record)

One con I noticed is that there is only a .com button; there is no "Push and Hold" for .net/org/gov etc.

As of ripping apart the IPA surprisingly Google seems to have cut back on a few things.
The only "privacy invasive" scripts are the ones found in most apps. (E.G. Take info from camera.app; appstore.app safari_web.app etc)
And of course Chrome stores stuff for ads.

this. probably everytime you open it it will gather data from every app you have, every text you've sent, every dirty picture youve taken to Better Help You With Your Browsing Experience.

Yea don't you just hate that? Having to see adverts that actually might interest you rather than random crap? Search form porn --> Look at porn --> Google shows me more porn.

Moar porn!

This is great. I finally have my tabs on my phone, Mac and iPad.

Though, note this: This browser won't be any faster than Safari. It's basically just a new UI for Safari. One of Apple's App Store rules is that any other web browser has to Apple's WebKit engine. So that's what Google is doing.

This.

Google has made me incredibly cynical with their products and search engine with all the privacy violations.

Better to be safe than violated

Examples?

Like, concrete examples of shit actually happening, not "I don't like this wording, it scares me".

1. Google has done more for internet privacy then you will ever achieve in your life. - not trying to sound harsh but..
2. If you want something kept private you dont put it on the internet, period. The internet was designed for sharing and copying.

Really? I'd love to hear more about it.

I don't mean that to challenge you, I'm just genuinely curious

I've used Chrome to input my details into at least 10 sites, including various debit/credit cards (a couple of which were my dad's business ones [legitimately, I didn't steal them v: ]) and I/we've never had any problems of identity theft or plain old actual theft.
I don't see the problem with Google, sure they use your details to improve their stuff, but they never do anything else with it, other than what they say v:
