Hacking gamecube games backup and download

i have a question here regarding gamecube games. is it possible to just download the games stright into the usb hard drive and play from there or do you have to have it on en sd card in order to play or could you run it from both because i have metal gear solid twin snakes retail disc and i was wondering what the process would be to make it run on cfgusbloader from usb hard drive thanks again to anyone that can help on this

You can't run GC games off of HDD, you have to use SD cards or discs (if your Wii supports it)

thanks man i just wish they would make a gamecube usbloader soon... because i for one would like to be able to play some gamecube game and wii games with out the use of discs...

Just get a large SD card if you're desperate.

an idea just came to me what if you took a download or a backup of a gamecube game and used wii backup manager and converted the file to wbsf would it work that way so the loader would read it off the hard drive ?

if it was that easy, don't you think it would have been done a loooooooong time ago? an crediar/godlike, wouldn't be working so hard on dml?

It was done a long time ago but creidar gave up after it was found there were some serious limitations that couldn't be worked around. There is a reason the current project is called Dios Mios LITE.

DIOS MIOS recently reappeared on googlecode, so there may still be hope. Also, Devolution is supposed to be released soon, which will run Gamecube games from USB in regular "Wii mode", which avoids the conflict in accessing USB when MEM2 is acting as ARAM.
