@[member='macmanhigh'], maybe some extra explanation...

Both are Wiiflow, but because the devs that are now working on Wiiflow (former Wiiflow-mod) and Wiiflow advanced (former Wiiflow) have different views and opinions of what the loader should be, they are going their seperate ways.

It could easily be that DML support will be added very soon to Wiiflow advanced, to name an example.

Just keep following both and decide for yourself which one to use.

That's a relief. I thought there were going to 3 versions for a minute.

So let me get this straight then...

WiiFlow Advanced = Official Updated Release mainly for Wii Games

WiiFlow Mod = Mod for DML+EmuNand+Homebrew

Always have used WiiFlow for my Wii Backups not until recently that EmuNand started working that i am using WiiFlowMod
I REALLY Love WiiFlow and would like it to be my All In 1 Ultimate Loader for everything (Wii+GC+WiiWare+VC) so keep the updates coming Budds

THX Again for all the Help & Answers

*Edit* Finally got cheats to show up in DML games...just copied txt or gct file to "games" along side the game.iso in respective folders....gonna check if they work
Still problem with covers not updating

Actually homebrew and nand emulation are my original code for wiiflow, so thats wiiflow advanced. Im planning on adding my version of dml support soon.

Fix94 - When is anything ever not complicated? Understandable that everybody has there opinion and those that can do put that opinion to work i.e branch off a official project and do their thing but in the end and think we all benefit which is the point of all this i hope so that everyone can enjoy their Wii's that much more :yaywii:

EtheBoss - WiiFlow has always been my top choice ever seen my got my Wii way back....Love the Sweet GUI n Easy Customizing just always felt Smooth like a Mutha
I've always Loved the Idea the getting the most outta ur systems and this is a Great example of that....Again in the End we all Benefit from the hard work so Kudos to both Teams n keep the Awesomeness coming :mthr:

where are the good old days when R-win still was active with this project. He was the brainer behind the later wiiflow project and miigotu learned a lot of him!

I'm glad that wiiflow-mod = wiiflow now, it has been the only version of wiiflow that I have been using for some time.

I have been quite impressed with the revs released by fix94, OverjoY, and I just wanted to thank the developers and testers for the hard work they have put into wiiflow.

Cheers

Anyone know which revision the whole garbled/wrong cover issue came up with WiiFlow-mod? I've been way back with r159 for a while now and just downloaded r230 but I'm afraid to use it after seeing these reports.

Also, at least in r159 I had noticed a little bug where when you had a game selected and you were up close looking at it, if you went scrolling through games being up close like that eventually you would get to the point where the next cover just wouldn't load (It has the [?] like there wasn't any cover installed.). As soon as you zoom back out to see all the games at once the problem is solved and you see the covers again . . . Could this be an extension of the same cover error?

I'm not sure if updating libpng is what caused the error but pretty much since that was added way back in wiiflow-mod, *clears throat* I mean wiiflow, I've had that weird cover corruption issue, I could describe it in detail but it's not necessary lol I think many of us have seen it. I've gone as far as deleting all my covers and attempting to find one corrupted wbfs out of 417 wbfs files thinking that could resolve the problem lol... and it didn't  Wiiflow-Advanced no longer has that cover problem though.

err so hold up, are you guys going to continue with the current rev naming convention of wiiflow-mod or continue to use the rev of Wiiflow? Which one would you even be at this point, 419? 426? (Wiiflow r426 is really Wiiflow-Advanced r1 I guess.)

Actually wiiflow.googlecode.com's r426 is one commit behind wiiflow-advanced.googlecode.com's r426, since wiifow r426 is just Lustar deleting the wiiflowiki wiki page off of the wiiflow site. My r426 is incredibly stable so far, many things are fixed, just about ready to have some of my new features added, as well as DML.

I don't know about everyone else but I'm personally gonna stick with calling them "WiiFlow-mod" and "WiiFlow-Advanced" respectively from here on out to avoid ANY confusion.
Anyway, I guess my question is in what WiiFlow-mod revision between r159 and r230 did the cover problem really get THAT bad? I wanna know which one to update to.

Actually wiiflow.googlecode.com's r426 is one commit behind wiiflow-advanced.googlecode.com's r426, since wiifow r426 is just Lustar deleting the wiiflowiki wiki page off of the wiiflow site. So, does that mean that the one linked to on the Wiki is actually WiiFlow-Advanced now or is it also just a r425 that didn't have a google wiki page to keep it company?

Edit: Actually, speaking of the Wiki page, it's been kinda abandoned for the last several months. I know working on the projects themselves is quite a bit more important and it seems kinda silly to add something to the wiki and then go right over and change it again in the program itself and make the wiki out of date again . . . but just saying.

Sounds like some work for qualified volunteers.

The wiki is still owned by Miigotu...so if it is needs to be worked on, he can give you the rights..

For anyone interested, look what I found.
http://gbatemp.net/t...iflow-advanced/
As seems to be the case whenever the subject's first introduced into any thread, the first part of the thread is a little flame-happy still but I'm sure it'll calm down so people can get working on making BOTH versions better.

Edit: Yes, I know I'm a little slow but I finally found the other thread myself. :D

Wow. I expected this would happen but I have to laugh at the advanced name. Time will tell which side ends up with a better USB loader. Hopefully they will each continue to do well and spur each other to new heights. Me, I'm sticking with Wiiflow-mod AKA WiiFlow since it has the enhanced categories that I asked for some time ago.

What's to laugh about? Have you seen the last changelog? Have you used r425+? If you're not being biased then I think you should see how well it runs since Wiiflow-Advanced will perform like a completely different beast, with sections of code ultimately being completely re-written for efficiency and where some already have.

I think it should be worked on parts that will see little to no change for now since what would be best is prob leave it alone till we at least see a non-beta release.. especially since now Miigotu is changing so many things.

Edit: Sorry for Double post, someone merge when possible.

Cyan: done

Advanced to me means more features and WiiFlow-Advanced has some catching up to do with WiiFlow-mod. I have used r425 and it didn't seem any faster to me than r230 and r230 has more to offer right now. I hope that mugoto can continue to advance his branch and that we all benefit from the competition.

My apologies for calling you biased, it was uncalled for and I got caught up in the heat of something else.
