I got this blue R4i cart when I bought my now useless DSi..
I don't know where compony of R4 did it came from since the seller gave it to me free when I bought his DSi.
If you touch the sticker on it's front, you will feel a rectangle thing in it. I think it is the chip...
The memory card with it has Moonshl2..
I tried different firmwares like wood kenel (since it is great on my another R4 and all new games works fine on it) but the R4i doesnt work with all the firmwares I tried other than the one already installed to it's memory card.

I think the R4i is fake..

It's firmware is good though. it has music player and skype and multiply, but I haven't tried any of it yet, and if the skype will work, I think it's useless now since my DSi is already updated and only using it on my DS Lite.

can anyone tell me what kind of r4 did I get and what firmware will work fine on it??

and also it says v1.45 instead.. but the blue r4i I found in the internet only says v1.41 on it's sticker..

also the edges on the bottom are all curvey.

btw, I'm looking for the firmware that Pokemon black and white or Harvest moon tale of two towns will work on..

those games works fine on my other r4 which looks like the one on top of this page, on the advertising.. the black one.
I'm using the wood kernel firmware on it cause all games works fine..

I'm trying to make those games to work on the blue r4i because, well.. i like it's color. and it looks more cool than the black 1..

What you don't understand too well, is a flash card is limited, almost always, to it's teams hardware and support. Your card has been abandoned and your hoping for a "scene-made" kernel. The Wood Kernel does not officially support your r4i-blue card, and never will. The luckiest you could get is using RetroGameFan's kernel. See if it supports your card by checking here. :D You should try to see if the "r4 clones" folder will work on your card. Just copy everything inside that folder to the root of your micro sd card, don't worry about all the other folders and files. Once everything is on your micro sd card, boot it up and see if it works.

not working again.. by the way my r4i when inserted to DS, it says star wars lethal alliance..

and the folders in the memory card are:
data
dsxreader
homebrew
moonmemo
moonshl2
plugins
r4imenu
skin
system

and files: ill.il
r4menu.ini
skin.in
ttmenu.sys

I think, I need a firmware that also have the same folders and file..
but Im good with it though.. I'll just play pokemon and harvest moon games on the black r4

Ok here it is, it's at v1.45 Link

Your card is a ndsill.net flash card or a "R4i NDSiLL"

But don't use that firmware because RetroGameFan's kernel supports your flash card directly. Quote from his post "R4i V1.45 Revolution - www.ndsiLL.net -> Rename TTMenu.dat to iLL.iL (Use DSTT_DSTTi folder)" You'll be able to play 99.9% of games that are out right now. :D

Do what I just told you, and you'll be playing Pokemon Black in about five minutes. The kernel I linked you to replaces your original one, so you need to erase everything but your games. This is a kernel not a firmware update. I hope you're not trying to update the card so it will work on the DSi because you updated and the card doesn't work? If that is the case, visit www.ndsill.net and look for a FIRMWARE update.

Dude:
1) Go to the link I'm about to give you and extract the file anywhere on your computer (you need 7zip or winzip to extract the file...if you don't have it, go download "7zip" because it's free). Link to the kernel you need!
2) Erase everything except your games from your micro sd card.
3) Place the files that are inside the "DSTT_DSTTi TTmenu" folder onto the root of your micro sd card. Make sure you Rename the TTmenu.dat file to iLL.iL once it's on your micro sd card. Don't worry about the other folders and files because you do not need them. You just need the stuff inside the "DSTT-DSTTi TTmenu" folder!
4) Boot up your card and try to play Pokemon Black or White or Whatever
5) Come back and tell me thank you, so I know it worked :)

ok.. the last link you gave me works! but the harvest moon game is not working. and also, the menu and everything you looks at it looks the same as the original firmware I have.

I'll try this retrogamefan now.. (I'm eager to make the harvest moon tale of two towns work than the pokemon black white)

Ok, you need to read my instructions. I'll tell you where to put the usrcheat.dat file, once you get the kernel up and running. I'll tell you where, don't worry. Just follow my directions.

2) Place the files that are in the "DSTT_DSTTi TTmenu" folder onto the root of your micro sd card. Make sure you Rename the TTmenu.dat file to iLL.iL Don't worry about the other folders and files because you do not need them. You just need the stuff inside the "DSTT-DSTTi TTmenu" folder!

The symbols all mean different things. I think the key is for when a game has download play available, when it's gold there is download play available for a game. You can press them with your stylus to see what they do. The other one's are for cheats being active.

Anyways, you place the usrcheat.dat file inside the TTmenu folder on your micro sd card. To turn on cheats, you press the "Y" button on the game you want to cheat in and it will take you to them. :)

highlight the game and press the x button

You can't make them alphabetical, that is one of the drawbacks to being able to play almost every game....not so bad huh?
