I have old wiiflow instructions, there is some on the wiki still
I think I am doing it correctly..want to make sure
alot has changed with the new .dols and the proper setup

Can someone state the exact way we should partition and complete a clean install just to be sure we all are doing it correctly?
including files being used

I use "modmii" to start, then add the wads from wiki to the wad folder and load everything at once including the forwarder channel using MMM
Hard Drive: part1: fat32 (1gb) & part2: ntfs

On part1 fat32 - I create 3 folders (apps, apps>wiiflow & wiiflow)
I copy the boot.dol (R415) into the empty folder apps>wiiiflow
Copy games folder wbfs into ntfs part.

Launch the wiiflow

Download the titles
Download all covers

setup some custom setting: return to channel..etc

Pretty close, the only suggested difference is that you would put those first three folders you mentioned on the the NTFS partition as well.
In that case you could optionally still put an /apps folder on your FAT32 partition for any homebrew you wanted to put there and in the /apps/wiiflow-forwarder on FAT32 you could put the priiloader forwarder dol and rename it to boot.dol if you wanted to be able to open wiiflow from the homebrew channel.
(At least if you plan to use NAND emulation later on. If not, your setup works great. Putting just the /wiiflow folder on ntfs would be optional then.)
Typically you would also put the icon.png and meta.xml in apps/wiiflow, too, but again that's optional.

Basically, just lots of suggestions but your setup works okay, too.

OK, then that leaves just 1 question:
What is the icon.png & meta.xml files used for?

I originally had these files on an old version of wiiflow download, now I dont?

Mostly, they are used if you open it with the Homebrew Channel. The icon.png is the little picture that shows up and the meta.xml shows the version and description and stuff like that.
I know meta.xml does some other things both in the Homebrew Channel and from the wiiflow forwarder channel but I'm not sure exactly what those are. It's something about telling them how to load it if I'm right but I do understand that they're optional by any means.
You can get the newest ones on the wiki. In the Main DropBox Download link there's a folder called HBC if you want them. Here's a link to the folder: http://dl.dropbox.co.../HBC/index.html

Edit : anyone else with a little more expertise care to explain what else the meta.xml file does when loading from a forwarder? I've actually been curious myself.

My wiiflow freezes all the time..
It's getting frustrating.. I can't do anything with it.
ahh... =__= I really liked the UI of wiiflow too..
What's your setup? (Version, partitions, cios, SD or Hard Drive, forwarder, clean install or not, etc.)

Uhh, I don't really know all that at all...

But is there a proper guide that can walk me through an installation of the newest version?

I just deleted it completely off my SD card.

I am using r153 and the video mode settings display only Default,NTSC 480i and PAL 576i but can not find any 480p option.I verified myself that I am using component cables.Am I doing something wrong?
It might just be automatic when it detects the cables without giving you the option. (The wording in the changelog kinda makes it sound that way now that you mention it.) My TV sucks too bad for me to even go buy some component cables to test it, though. I do understand that some games just don't support it, though, if it is being done automatically.
This might have to be one for FIX to answer when he gets on. (I wonder what time it is for him in Germany right now.)

I am waiting for Fix's response too...

can you add a Shutdown button to Wiiflow like CFG or GX.
Or, once you press Home, Wiiflow shows a Menu with: Shutdown, HBC and System Menu.
thx

Just some suggestions for the Wiki:

1. FIX's DML guide could be linked into the "installation" section.
2. The "Partitioning" page still suggests THREE partitions so Miigotu's two partition setup (on the "NAND Emulation" page) could be added in there, too.
3. The updated "default.ini" that FIX linked in here could be added. (The 15 option one could be added once r419 comes out but this one is compatible with r418)

I think I know what you mean, place this into sd/usb:/wiiflow/themes:
http://dl.dropbox.co...767/default.ini
4. Also on the "Partitioning" page it recommends "wbfs2fat". In addition, to convert from FAT32 to NTFS, a while back another program was mentioned here that could be linked to the Wiki as well.

You don't have to move your files , or games just use this program , select your drive , under advanced it will give you an option to "convert fat to NTFS"

That would be nice. I personally would like being able to shut the Wii COMPLETELY down not just sleeping it (red power button light instead of the orange one) but for now, that I know of in WiiFlow, all I can do without having to actually walk over to the console and hold down the power button is use the power button on the wiimote which only sleeps it.

I was thinking of a fix for homebrew mode cache that doesn't require changing the default 6 character method,
just make the cache filename built in reverse i.e. usbloader will be redaol.xxx and usbloader_GX becomes xg_red.xxx,
I think less conflicts will take place this way.
