It's not that big a deal. Most games for the PSP are already on SEN. No need to freak out.

so pay full price for them again ?
PlayStation Vita is Region Unlocked.
Japan offers UMD Passport.
Make a Japanese PSN Account.
Transfer your UMD's.
Done.

Now shut up already, it's a non-existant issue. I'm still waiting for that photo of your UMD's too.

Nintendo Virtual Console on the Wii.

'nough said.
there's a difference between paying for older gen games that are either very hard to find or very expensive and last gen games.

Edit: and your way of bypassing makes no sense because your Vita will now be locked to the Japanese account and the games will be in Japanese only (providing it will actually work, which I doubt because of the IDs)

I felt particularily hurt that I had to re-buy games I already have, I should've been given the option to enter serial codes from my cartridges/boxes or otherwise prove my posession of certain titles and get free access to them.

Oh, wait! I didn't buy any, because it's a rip-off and provided I have the games, I have the console aswell, so I probably wouldn't care for them in the first place.

I'm pretty sure that they can still play them on their PSP's. Sony don't make you hand in your PSP when you buy a Vita.

Or I'm too technically inept to open a cartridge and replace a battery. Or I'm some sort of an idiot and sold the console while keeping the games at the same time for no reason at all. Or I just feel like trolololing for no reason because I hate Sony soooo much.

One day you're gonna get banned, I tell ya.

The UMD Passport was a useless option anyway. You only got a small discount on the PSN version, if it was even offered online at all.

They had better have something more interesting planned instead.

PSN work around taken from Gamefaqs (apparently there's an IGN video too)

since the system and the memory card is bound to psn, u need 2 memory cards for this trick

its pretty simple
1. sync your trophies
2. remove the memory card
3. format the system
4. redo all the settings
5. put in the new memory card
6. make a new PSN account

so now you have memory card A bound on PSN 1
and you have memory card B bound on PSN 2

I can test it for you to see if it works, providing I have a compatable game.

Why is it so hard for Sony to keep this program on PSN? Seriously, this sucks.

Although it doesn't effect me since I'll have a European PSN.
Sony NA is afraid that certain issues with PSN may surface that will require re-working the emulator, much like the sound issues in that one Nippon Ichi game that had to be taken off the compatibility list. They don't want the hassle, really. Plus, it would require creating an exchange infrastructure. They want to limit playing PSP games on the Vita for now, hence they frown upon UMD transfers.

Doesn't matter to me, I never brought a UMD and I only brought one PSP game from PSN.
I can just pirate on my PSP (You know, when a game I actually care about releases).

I honestly don't think it's gunna work though.
The list contains re-releases (魔界戦記ディスガイア2 PORTABLE PSP® the Best), I'm unsure why they list Bests instead of the proper name (it's probably just how they are named on PSN (but IIRC some Japan re-releases have a different game ID)). You could try that anyway, would be a big help (I'm assuming you have this game in English, you probably like NIS lol)

I don't have any Disgaea games on PSP but I do have Criminal Girls, maybe I can get that to work on a US Vita.
