@Jayro call out that fairly recent banger of a NS2 update with NS1 games. Check that box. To allow the NS2 in handheld mode to run NS1 games in docked mode is the other part of a 1-2 punch the system delivered on the old handhelds games. You already had that generalized update of how well games worked stock or with quick enough tweaks, largely centered around games that pushed the GPU side of the hardware more than CPU and got massive gains in FPS, stability etc. But then Nintendo listens to the fans, or already planned it, but allowed people to make the battery thristier choice of NS2 in handheld mode running the old games still in docked mode was a chefs kiss move.
I get if you have a solid PC and still would rather use that, or one of a few niche devices that can crank NS1 games to stupid good rates, but if we're sticking to use of stock hardware and not some magic warezy workaround, it's really something to consider.
