Tetsuya Nomura said recently that Theatrhythm Final Fantasy will have download content. Now, thanks to some pics that surfaced of some dummy box art, we know it has paid download content, as well as support for what may be a new Nintendo online initiative.

The back of the box says that the game supports download content via the internet. The fine print notes that the download content is paid.
Theatrhythm hits on February 16, making it a likely candidate for first 3DS game to make use of the paid transaction support Nintendo added to the system in a firmware update late last year.

More significant is the little logo in the upper right of the box:

There's an investor meeting next week so perhaps the Nintendo Network logo is a sign of a proper unified online system. And I don't really mind paid DLC in Theatrhythm. The game already has a wide variety of songs so a couple more available for download won't be so bad.

I'm really interested in this game... A mix of my two favorite game genre, music and rpg...
As for the dlc, meh, maybe I'll buy it only if there is any FF song that I like in it...

So they can get paid DLC through, but they can't figure out patches? Right...

This seems like a game that would be suited for DLC, at least. Hopefully Square Enix uses it to extend and enrich the game, rather than just an excuse to exploit their fanbase.
