It is... acceptable. In terms of graphical performance the 430 kinda sucks, and I haven't really been in the loop when it comes to CPUs lately, but I do remember reading that the 4100 was a disappointment (wasn't bad, just disappointing). I'd still take this over my 2 year old laptop any day though.

GT430 4GB was pretty much an excuse to make money on a below average card for people who assume more video memory means better processing power from their GPU, new bulldozer CPUs still can't compete with intel alternatives but without a doubt it's not a bad build.

For the above reasons, I'd rate it 6/10. It's not bad, it's not great, it's just good. The next parts to upgrade, the graphics card and the hard drive (because you can never have enough storage).

Thanks for the advice! My dad is already planning to buy a new hard drive. I don't think I'll need to upgrade the graphics card for while, though.

Where did you get a 430 that had 4gb of memory installed lol?

I think it's already been mentioned here but you don't seem to believe that the 430 may need some upgrading

the 4 gb are coming from the system ram, this 430 doesn't have any ram chips like a normal discrete gpu would have.

The cpu performance is hit and miss depending on the task it has to do, AMD promise more consistent results with windows 8 as it will have some sort of thread pairing mechanism.

Not very good.
I have a x6 @ 4ghz, and I'm not upgrading to BD till microsoft at least fixes the scedualer for BD. Also a fx-4xxx is more like a dual core with two extra cores :/
My gpu ( ati 5870 @ 900mhz) doesn't like crysis 2 all max, nvidea's like the tesselation more. But Ithink the 430 wil not preform extremely well in crysis 2 :/
Still, crysis 2 can be quite demanding, and if you turn everything on the highest it will be quite hard for most pc's
The pc itself isn't bad though

Buying a hard drive right now is stupid, they're very overpriced because of limited production due to weather problems in uh...where was it, Philippines? I'd get a small SSD or something for now.

and how much did you spend on this? I run Crysis 2 fine on max settings and I only spent like 500 on everything

Weather problems? Actually, large-scale flooding of HDD factories and warehouses in Thailand (the capital of world electronics). I'm hearing it'll take around 2 years to restore all the damage, and that HDD prices will be at their current level during that time. That said, it should only take around 3-6 months to make up for the shortages caused by lost products. It's only doubled the prices, so at least for consumers it's not that bad.

Since we are on the topic of recommendations, any recommendations for a new video card?
How much do you want to spend on it?
what's your power supply's power rating?
do you have room for a full width/length card?

you can always look at this link (Tom's hardware best graphics cards for the money: January 2012):
