First details on Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition have surfaced via the latest issue of Jump. The magazine also reveals a March 17 release date and ¥5,800 price point.
In case you tuned out towards the end of December, Pokemon Company announced Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition as the latest DS Pokemon game.. The game is a crossover between the Pokemon franchise and Tecmo Koei's Nobunaga's Ambition series.
As with past Pokemon games, you start off by selecting from a male or female main character. Your character here is a general ("Busho" in Japanese), here meaning a person who has strong ties with a Pokemon. Regardless of your character's gender, you'll start off with Eevie as you partner Pokemon.
The game world is split into 17 kingdoms, each pairing famous general with a Pokemon. Nobunaga is paired with Zekrom for instance. Your goal is to defeat your rival generals and unite the land.
The game's strategy battle system places six allied units against six enemy units. The units are all Pokemon, each with special skills based off their type.
The generals who command the battalion also have special "busho powers," one power for each general. An example is the ability to heal your Pokemon units.
Outside of battle, you'll need to prepare your army. You make use of your ability to "link" with wild Pokemon in order to build up your forces. You'll also be able to scout new generals for your army. More generals are scheduled to be announced for the game. Before heading out to battle, you can strengthen up your army in your castle town.
We still don't know what kind of story Pokemon Co. has come up with for this still unexpected crossover. But with a release only a couple of months away, we should be getting all the strange details shortly.
