It's been a year or so since I ended up hacking it and haven't done anything with it since. Sister got a new game, Sing It, and it requires an update. I'm pretty familiar with modding Acekards and whatnot, but I never took the time to learn too much about this. I'm sure I have the files backed up somewhere so I can pop it in an SD card and do whatever needs to be done to revert or upgrade. But on the off chance I cannot find those files, am I screwed?
Any and all advice would be helpful. I just want my sister to be able to play her game.

Install Priiloader and block disc updates. I also recommend you use ModMii to update your IOS files and whatnot.

I think the easiest thing is just to run a regular internet update via the Wii system menu. That way, everything will be updated. It is very safe.

After that, you can hack the Wii using the letter bomb exploit.

... And if he isnt on 4.3 already he will lose a lot of features, and if his Wii is a region changed korean Wii, he will get a brick. Bad idea.

Yeah, what features? Is there any risk to doing an official update?

4.2 and 4.3 was designed purely to ruin softmods. They also region locks the SM. Updating to 4.2 or 4.3 on a korean Wii results in a 003 brick. You have less recovery options in case of a brick and stuff like that. Do a search, this isnt the place to explain every detail.
All you need to know is theres nothing to gain from 4.2 and 4.3 - only drawbacks.
