Remedy, the developers of Alan Wake have confirmed that a PC copy of the game will be launching sometime in Q1 2012. They also announced that the PC copy will come with both downloadable episodes, 'The Signal' and 'The Writer'.
The game originally launched in May 2010 for the Xbox 360, a PC version was also in the works at the time but was scrapped to focus attention on the console version.

Nice that the PC version includes the DLC as the main game is only about 5 hours long. Great game though.
The Signal DLC is very dark and one of the best DLCs to come out imo.

Bet it doesn't sell as well as they hope and then they'll play the piracy card.
I can say for sure that Remedy isn't one to bitch about piracy in that way. Or at least hasn't been for as long as I've known some of the founders/devs. Hopefully the company itself hasn't changed from that. Another whole matter is the company that makes the final release.. Piracy could make them bitch :P

More OT: Thank god, finally a non-360 version of the game.. Almost had some kind of fit and bought a 360 for this game :D

Y-yeah, that's kinda late. Whoever WANTED to play it back when it was released forgot about it by now, and when it'll hit shelves they'll just assume it's an "old game".

Or they just didn't want to buy the 360 to play it. I for one didn't.. Now I can just connect my computer to a TV and play it with a PS3 controller! " :creep:"

I'll be getting it provided it isn't for GFWL. I've heard a lot of praise for this game.

So, so, so, so nice.

I loved the game when it came out for the 360, so it's nice to see that many people who were interested in getting the game but couldn't would now have the opportunity.

I'll be getting it provided it isn't for GFWL. I've heard a lot of praise for this game.

They found files for the game on Steam, so it seems likely that it will be released there (I'm assuming that games on Steam aren't GWFL, so I might be wrong).

Do note that Alan Wake was a Microsoft exclusive for the 360 (and they payed quite a bit for that exclusiveness, or so I've heard). But hopefully we can have an alternative..

Of course, but the files on Steam are pretty telling. They might have figured that restricting it to be a GFWL title only wouldn't be as profitable as distributing it through Valve's service.

actually there are quite a few games on steam that use gfwl so it being found via steam it doesn't tell you anything new.

The Steam version of Arkham City still uses GFWL. So I reckon Microsoft will still tack it on.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
