Gaming Skyward Sword: First Dungeon

Hey guys, so as the title suggests, I'm stuck in the first dungeon of the game. I'm in a room that supposedly has two switches. I hit one of them to raise the water level, but a tablet guarded by a Skulltulla says "Two doors lead to rooms left and right, but they will only open when the gemstones are struck . One is above, one below." Anyone?

my batteries ran low couldn't get that far just at the entrence tho. will play more tomorrow. also I'm still waiting for my golden edition! (so it's okay imo for me to try this in beforehand. I think of it like pre-activation code for other games or beta playing.)

I was able to figure it out. After you you raise the water level for the first time, go back to the main crossroads, drop into the water, swim under the lefthand arc. You will find a switch that'll open the door above you.

I am stuck right at the start of this dungeon. There is a room right off the bat with a "magical sentry" above a locked door. I cannot figure out how to get through this room. All I have is my slingshot, sword, and shield at this point so it shouldn't be this complicated. But, I am completely missing something. The hint that I am given is just that it will stare at the point of a sharp object. Thanks for any help.

Theres a hidden switch, use the beetle to find it.
I wont say where it is, cause you have to think a little for yourself

Ahhh seems I had missed one of the openings Thought I had checked them all Thx a bunch!

First make sure that you'd hit both switches that flood the rooms, if you haven't hit the second one yet, it's in the room all the way to the west (check the map for the red x in the room, that's the switch you need to hit)

Once you've hit that, there is a log in the center room along the east wall floating in the water. Jump on that and you should be able to reach a climbable wall, climb up that and go through that path and it'll lead to that chest (and the key it contains)
