how's the public release going guys? I cant test anything right now because of my external enclosure SATA-to-USB module is broken (im relieved that it's not the HDD).

i'm not sure why more people don't just dump their own nand.
i mean , modmii nand is good,
but wouldn,t there be less limitations and faster (first-time) loading come from just using one of the fsdumper's ?

the essence of this project is to make a game backups working in a "clean" IOS . With no such modded cIOS or mIOS installed on your Wii. So you can just accept updates without the risk of your real NAND being broken (if you used your modded Real NAND on neek02, the results that your emulated NAND will be broken if you accept any updates)

Only gameid I am afraid. You can use a subfolder of the wbfs folder with the gamename in it.
In that case the end of the folder name should be the gamename between square brackets if I remeber well.
It's a format usb loaders support as well.

good to know :)
if you use a custom filename, the gameid must in in the square brackets "dkcr_ntsc[SF8E01].wbfs" i think. this format use usb-loaders, or not?

@obcd: can you tell me more about "nandpath.bin now overrules nandcfg.bin" i can't find nandpath.bin in any folder.
nandcfg.bin can i find in usb:\sneek\
is there a need to know about nandpath.bin?

a nandpath.bin file in the sneek folder was the first method to select a nand from a subfolder.
It is a simple text file containing the path to the nand folders. So /nands/nand43E in such a file will always load the nand folders in that subfolder.
The entry should be created in nandcfg.bin as well. So, basically, you can still switch to another nand with the neek2O overlay menu.

Maybe, other applications will use it to switch from one neek2O nand to another. You can also have a dipath.bin in the sneek folder.
I leave it up to you to find out it's purpose.

So, basically, it's an optional feature.

I just noticed the IRC channel points to a google code web page. (@Overjoy and obcd) are we allowed to link to it here?

(also: maybe it's just me, but modmii had no access to download most of the needed files. So for now, the only way to do things is still the manual compile)

Not fully. It just shows the es debug output. The usb gecko shows es, fs-usb, di and ppc program debug output simultanously.
It can help in debugging for people without an usb-gecko.

Not yet. It will be made public this evening between 20:00 and 22:00. We are cleaning it up right now.

Okay. :)

For the record: I used the files thereon to build Oneek...sorry: Neek2O, and it worked. (yeah, it's probably the same as the last RC, but still...).

Thanks... and well.. it isn't finished yet
thats fine. i thinks its the right way to make it the ultimate homebrew for the wii :D

i have the next bug for you ;)
the game frankenstein [SIFPNH] dont run with UNEEK+DI and NEEK2O+cDI. game loads to the first brand name then freeze. scobby means the problem is the IOS reload. do you have an idea to fix this?

Guys, great work on this...truly impressive!!!

As mentioned earlier the next logical step to unlock the full potential of NEEK2O is do develop a replacement to switch2uneek (for various reasons). The other in my opinion would be to develop a game loader comparable (visually and functionally) with as an example Configurable USB Loader. I'm quoting this loader as I've not used others.

Don't get me wrong, but once the Wiimote is ripped out of my hands by my kids, the neek overlay menu isn't 'as fun' or kid friendly as the UI of Configurable USB Loader. JoyFlow CFG isn't bad, but honestly needs more development.

The way NEEK2O was developed, I wouldn't be surprised if the above 'wish list' was with us by the end of the year :)

Keep up the great work :yay:
