Sony to start limiting game sharing as of this month

The official Playstation blog today announced that from November the 18th the number of devices that can be activated on one PSN account for game content purchases will change. The number will be reduced to just two systems for both the PSP and PS3. This will not apply retroactively, meaning that previously authorised devices will still have access to any authorised content. But any game content purchases made after the 18th will be subject to this new policy.

So far this has only been announced for the AE, AU, GB, IE and NZ regions, with no word so far if this new policy will be introduced to the US.

Oh dammit. I already spent one of my activations on an old PS3 that broke which I sent in to Sony, and my second one broke as well. Luckily I managed to turn the second one on long enough to deactivate it, so when I buy a Slim I SHOULD still be able to download my games. If not, I SWEAR I'm never buying a Sony console again.

So does this mean I won't be able to put my psn stuff on a vita even since it has been on a ps3 and 2 psps?Or is it 2 on 2 consoles each like a psn classic on 2 ps3s and 2 psps? I no longer have the ps3 and got rid of 1 psp so I hope that deactivation doesn't require them.

I think by imposing such limitation it just help spawns more piracy. People who buy it have restriction and people who gets it illegally can do whatever they want...

Look at PC games for instance, copy protection on legit games often creates problem with other program and gives limitation like needing an internet connection active for offline play while pirate enjoy full games with no limitations and hassle...

So congratulation at all those company shooting themselves in the foot and giving a hard time to their loyal customers lol

This is happening because of Gamesharing, an exploit (if you would call it that) to get games for free from other people.

This is just annoying, I don't want games to be so restricted, they could atleast tone the price down on stuff..

How are they restricted?
Do you own a PS3?
Two PS3s?
More?
If your answer is one or two then why are you complaining?
If your answer is three, why the hell do you have three PS3s?

Well won't affect me much, but this could be a pain for a lot of people. Actually what I find amazing is that quite a few companies are making restrictions for paying customers and basically letting pirates roam free with consoles on CFW. Also one thing that could piss me off regarding this is when I go visit my parents/brother and want to show them something I've bought on PSN. Apparently that can't be done in both cases?

ps. Sony don't be a piss-ant and let people have fun. Making profit with DLC/Codes is already absurd as is.

Edit: Also for quite a few people: Making money is what a company should be doing. What I find amazing is that they've actually let you install everything on 5 PS3s.

You can only transfer licenses once every 121 days, at least with PS3/PSP you can deactivate systems (online) anytime you want.

Er, you can't sell or 'lend' PSN content.

Actually it's weird that you could even give someone your account and activate some content with it. Can't see any DSiware, Wii downloads or XBL content sharable?

But you can give someone your account details. Lend is the sam as borrowing something?(I forgot To borrow completely.)
