In short, I want to know how all of you define this area.

Maybe we can clear up some confusion here.

Treat this like an actual discussion thread. Even though it's in the EoF I would like serious answers, please.

I think of the EoF as like a spam section where the topics have a point and are a light hearted place to discuss whatever >_> like a chatbox. I do not know the rules of it at all but I'd say they are pretty much the forum rules. You can get away with post longer than "no"

The EoF does not add to your postcount, so we have no problem with +1, yes/no, or image-only posts here.

Otherwise you are correct. It's meant to be a more lighthearted place for people to have fun.

The EoF is a place to share and (rarely) discuss about, practically, anything that doesn't need to be answered seriously or doesn't belong in General Off-Topic Chat. Examples of what you might see in the EoF are random Youtube vids, memes and pictures, quotes/fb statuses, random jokes/sarcastic material, and anything you feel like sharing for the lulz. But the biggest part of the EoF are the spam games; they're for pure fun and spam. These games don't have an end to them and you can post anything you want (nobody really cares if you're going by the rules or not), unless it violates any of GBATemp's regular rules (most prominently, stuff dealing with warez and porn material). Whether it's the EoF or any other forum, none of this is tolerated. People might swear and say mean things, but they don't usually build up to emotional distress or flame wars, as most of them aren't taken seriously here. Double-posting and triple-posting aren't that common, but usually not punished in the EoF (unless you go way too far with it). To be blunt, you practically don't get in trouble for posting in the EoF (but some peeps are... ).

To me, it is a place of freedom, where I can be as perverted open with myself as I want. Seriously, I usually am not so perverted open outside of the EoF.
It is probably the best place to find friends of mutual interest.

Ah, so wait, this is an actual problem you're having with other members? Wrong section or approach really.... no one's going to take it all that seriously here unless it's a sticky and you name it something like "KNOW THE RULES OR BE WARNED/BANNED!"

Likewise to you, but if you think you'll actually get away with a "rational discussion" here (EoF) without TONS of moderating eventually (The main EoF posters minus me have yet to post here), you're insane. General Off-Topic tends to have the same crowd as this EoF, and everyone there takes things seriously.

aww... alright, I'll keep myself controlled as much as I can. Most of the stuff will be pretty vague/not easy to understand, unless you're among a certain group.

I at least believe I haven't posted any "over-the-border" material, yet.

EDIT: meaning that most of them aren't insulting or disturbing to most people. They are to be taken sarcastically.

I think the current state of the EOF is pretty good right now. We have a pleasant crowd of people who frequent this place right now, and its relatively trouble free. So I know for a fact that most people are fully aware where the line in the sand is drawn, its just common sense.

This whole thread was just created because one person (mucus) decided to act like a fool and troll the place. Some staff felt (or rather one staff member felt) that we need to clarify the rules more to avoid this happening. However despite mucus' pleas of "I was just eofing in the eof" he was perfectly aware that he was pushing things, and this is something he has been known to do before here too. There is absolutely no need to specifically draw up rules for that kind of person, all it does is give them windows of opportunity to find gaps in the ruleset and exploit it.

And the last thing I want to hear from people who are determined to act like dicks is "well the rules didn't specifically say anything against this or that, so you are abusing your power/ misinterpreting the rules."

At the end of the day it is impossible to legislate for everything, and attempting to do so would be more trouble than its worth and cause more harm than good. All it takes is a little common sense from everyone and we can all have fun here without any trouble arising from that fun.

But now its just a roadhouse filled with failtrolls and EoF-postcount spammers.

the rants I posted and then had deleted when I got lawsuit over them, that in afterthought should have never been posted in the first place.

I guess the best thing to do would be to define a flame post and a troll post.

Remind you that there are other sites that are furry, pony, anime, porn or other related that would be better suited to this stuff. If you are thinking don't host it here, then don't. have a blog at wordpress with a personal image upload...(wait you have that here). the rules for them though is no adult content.
I can't talk sex/dirty there. I shouldn't talk sex dirty here. (hasn't stopped me though). It might be easier to let people link to sites that have the "warning adult content" thing instead of letting the eof host the same thing.
