Hopefully Kirby will be out tomorrow. I went out and bought Epic Yawn, so I will be demoing this one (I HATED Epic Yawn). When that happens, I’ll grab this game too. I like mascot kart racers, like Mario Kart, Sonic & Sega All Star Racing, and Crash Team Racing.

This game is really sub-par, but it gets the job done for what it is. I'll just quote what somebody else who played the game found that they liked about it, and what really brought it down.

- Controls aren't that bad, you control Ben with the D-pad, L is used to switch between Alien Forms, after awhile you can press L to transform into an Alien Form. X i think it used to use items, the little Ben 10 Symbols.

Also, apparently collecting the Ben 10 Symbols sometimes either lets you transform into one of the aliens, or it gives you an item to use. It seems random, i thought it might have been based on the giant yellow bar on top, but that doesn't seem to be the case i don't think.

The loading times seem a little long, but i can only base that on the pirated copy, it could easily be different for the retail copy, no clue.

The game has Voices, well Ben will sometimes say things if you do things like pass an enemy.

For a show called Ben 10, where he was suppose to have 10 different Aliens inside the Omnitrix, it looks like so far i can only use around 3 or 4 of the aliens, though i may get to use some later.

The tracks seem somewhat varied i think

So far i'd give it a 3/5 or 7/10, it's not bad so far. I'll keep playing it to see how it is, so far it's pretty easy. Also some of the tracks seem to work on some sort of 3 tier thing. What i mean is in the Grand Prix the top level had 3 Races, When i beat the 2nd race, it unlocked the 3rd race then automatically unlocked the Ice Race under it. No clue why. Not sure if it's automatically unlocked like that, or if it's based on Race Time or Place at the end of the race.

- Just found out, you can either use the the Token things you collect to Transform at times, or you can Press R to use them for a Turbo boost. Still not sure when it decides to become an item to use

- Transforming, apparently you have to decide which Alien you use before you get the logo that lets you Transform, since they use the Same button, if you get it and the symbol on top appears showing you can transform, you will Transform as soon as you Hit L, so you can't Grab the Logo, Switch Aliens, then Transform

- Beat the 1st Ice Race, and the 2nd Ice Race, and the Race on the bottom Tier got unlocked, even though there are still races on the 2nd tier to beat.
Apparently you can unlock more powers, i unlocked 2 new powers by getting first in 2 different races, not sure if its just unlocking them by beating those races, or if it's getting first place in races.

Also the yellow bar on top, if you fill it up completely you can use an Alien power without collecting the Ben 10 logo.

Currently on the 3rd track of the Ice Tracks, the game is showing its annoying side.

- The race has a loop, its not a multi level look, like it doesn't go up to the next level, or down below, its a basic loop, except that it seems very easy for me to mess up and go around the loop wrong because i keep thinking it's a shortcut.

- The racers that go around the loop first and pass me the opposite way still try and use items on me, even though i;m still at least 10 seconds or more behind them

- The items seem to either be Random or are the opposite of Mario Kart Syndrome, i was in last place, which is 4th and i grabbed an item and managed to get the most useless item since it drops giant boulders on the ground behind me, while everyone else was in front of me.

- The guy in 3rd i tried to pass 2 times, and both times he managed to get and use the item that slows down people right next to you.

- I currently can't unlock the last ice track or the last track in the Grand Prix, i assume the Tracks are unlocked based on how you do in the previous races, i got 4th in the last race i played the last few times and still can't unlock them. I'll play more after i take a shower to see if i can beat the Grand Prix.

Though currently i do have to bring the score down to a 2/5 based on the issues i mentioned

Basically, it is out there for the name, not to be enjoyed.

Ok, I have been playing it. I beat grand pix.

• Items are random. When I was in 1st place I go the boost. Boost (Item) is broken. If you hold down the button, It is like having 10 golden mushrooms in Mario Kart terms

• I question when this was made. Ben has ghost Freak in his watch, and Ghost Freak was extracted in Alien Force (a series before ultimate alien) So it is odd to see Ben has have him.

• Ghost freak is also a cart racer too. Which is awesome!

• The Items blow too. All of the items can’t be thrown, plus they are pretty much the same. There really only 3 items. Laser beams which do various thinks to whoever it hits, mainly turns them into stone/wood, ect to slow you down. Then there is goop you leave behind in long trails. Lastly, there is a shield.

• The Tracks also blow and are confusing. There are only 3 places. Normal, Ice, and null void.

• Each theme has about 3 to 4 races. It is the same course but with new ways to race. This can get confusing, because there are rarely any signs in the later levels, so you’ll be driving & crashing into sharp turns

• The bantering between characters is pretty good.

• Grind Prix is story mode the 1st time, then after you can play as whoever.

• Heavy characters seem godly. I boosted 3 times & Vilgax passed me.

• Each course has short cuts. These are pretty much needed to win in later races.

• Items are not bountiful either which is annoying. It is like playing Sonic Riders 2 at times

• You can hold up to two special items, via, transform twice or boost twice or one or the other.

• There is no drifting like in Mario Kart

• You can hold ‘A’ all the way though

• Big Chill's Special shows him turning Invisible, but he still can be hit, which i thought was odd.

• Down is to look back. It doesn’t seem bad until you play it with the 3ds’ analog

• All you really need to press is Left or Right

• You pretty much unlock everybody but 2 characters after you beat GP

• Before you start the game, you select a difficulty, and you cannot change it. Hero mode is recommended, because normal is just too easy.

• Some Specials are crippling. The lasers I mentioned cripple you. Diamond heads too, if you crash into them (diamond bars on the ground pop up and block you.)

• You can restart races in GP.

• No online wi-fi, local only

• Driving off road seems to have no consequence

• It feels like there should be more playable characters

I agree with the final score quoted. It is a poor clone, and has some issue. Mainly, bland level design (only 3 course with the majority being alternate routs) & overpowering items which can make or break a race.
