The Battlefield 3 Open Beta is based on software that is more than one month old. The built a new game engine for the final game. They can't just release the latest code as a beta and call it a day.And BF3 has become less exciting for me since the beta, I doubt I'll pick it up unless I have a really positive experience at a friend's house or something.
Excessive bullet damage was acknowledged as a glitch, not a feature.Unless they changed the ability for everyone to just go prone in bushes and shoot people like dicks or have everyone not die in two shots, I'm not terribly interested. I mean I could take more bullets in CoD for Christ's sake. It just seems if you're hit once, you're dead. They can just spray and pray and they'll hit you again. Plus the "prone campers" would just kill me every time I tried moving. Maybe I suck at the game but I just don't think dying every two seconds, then waiting for a respawn and stuff is exactly fun.

And the prone campers were mostly glitchers. Although I do agree some more could be done about it.
Sounds fair. I always try to break people of their "No, fuck that game, I'm not even gonna try it" mentalities.Excessive bullet damage was acknowledged as a glitch, not a feature.

Hm, I may try it at a friend's house some day. Just play a bit of the campaign to see if the bullet damage issue is fixed and then maybe contemplate a purchase.
