I'm sure you're being sarcastic, but it's hit nearly a million concurrent players at its peak since 1.0 launched, and that's only on Steam. It's several orders of magnitude better than Legends Z-A, GameFreak is gonna have to do something really interesting/different with Winds and Waves if they don't wanna risk losing a sizeable chunk of the core player base. Odds are they don't care though as long as cards and merch sales keep pace.
Ah yes... the core players of checks notes a general purpose RPGs where the major progression is higher stats as you progress through the game are going to leave for a checks notes survival crafting game with RPG elements where the major progression is getting better and more powerful gear, mainly by finding the crafting ingredients in the world.

Correct, people have been waiting for the Pokemon games to do something, anything different or interesting for decades. They finally got about halfway there with Legends Arceus' concept and then for some reason decided to take a huge step backward with Legends Z-A. Mainline games are even worse, to the extent that they might as well still be getting ported to the original Game Boy. For that matter, you could make them wholly text-based and the experience would be fundamentally the same (not to mention have far fewer bugs/performance issues).

Beast of Reincarnation seems like GameFreak's final chance to prove that they're bored to tears with the Pokemon franchise and not just an F tier developer in general. Either way they should hand the reins off to a more passionate/competent studio, and it seems Nintendo have chosen Koei Tecmo to fill that role (they're credited in the Winds and Waves trailer). The critical and commercial success of Pokopia has likely accelerated that transition as well.

...My point was the layman consumer of RPG games arn't going to play a game that has RPG elements if they didn't like the direction an RPG franchise they mainly played was going, they're just going to move onto a different RPG series.

Not necessarily, there were already a ton of turn-based Pokemon-likes available before Palworld entered early access, and none of them captured an audience even half as big. RPG is a genre that casts a very wide net now, and Palworld has plenty of RPG elements despite having survival-crafting elements too.

If all people wanted was more of the exact same, mainline Pokemon games would still be reviewing at 9/10 instead of 6/10. Turn-based mechanics have seen plenty of innovation over the years, so that's no excuse.

I really wanted it to run decently on the Ayn Thor because it just feels at home on a handheld, but it was not meant to be. Other people reported much more playable framerates than what I got. Maybe the 1.0 update increased the system requirements.

In any case, guess this will be an at home only game for the foreseeable future. Probably zero chance Nintendo will ever allow it on the Switch (2) considering the lawsuits. Despite allowing obvious shovelware AI slop copycats onto the eShop... Oh well.

Maybe there's hope for an Android port eventually. That would be sick.

It's apparently confirmed that they are working on an MMORPG version of the game.
Also, any of y'all got your hands on some TCG boosters?

Honnestly, if Pokemon kept the crafting mechanics of Legends Arceus, improved it, and made it a core mechanic for a new spin-off license (Pokemon Legend), it would probably have become my favorite spin-off license. Just Mystery Dungeon spin-off has Dungeon Crawling/Rogue-like as its core mechanics, if they had Crafting (And maybe some Survival) as the core mechanics for Legend spin-off, I feel like it would actually have some potential.

There's nothing "judging by what I said". I said what I did BECAUSE it's the norm. This is a problem with your own assumptions, not with what I said.
There is no "assumption" of my own. Anyone who sees this will think the same since you quoted someone who only said "it peaked at nearly one million concurrent players". Everyone will think the same. Which is that you said it like it was a bad thing.
Flash news, even if it stagnate at 50k, it's still much better than a lot of AAA games do nowaday.
As for the rest of this, I'm not here to start a pointless argument with a pointless person.
So, I'm gonna leave this here

Do you even know wtf the word assumption means? Because you're literally trying to tell me what the intention in MY own comment was. You're conflating your interpretation with what I actually wrote. I never said a drop to 50k would be bad, nor did I say post-launch declines are abnormal. I said the player count would likely fall because that's what launch spikes usually do. If you inferred that I meant it was a bad thing, that's an inference, not something I stated. Also, "Everyone will think the same" isn't even an argument. It's just assuming that your interpretation is universal. My comment was a prediction about where the player count would settle, not a claim that a decline is unusual or that 50k would be a failure.

When you have to use a Turning Point meme to try to insult a person, you've already lost the argument long before it even started. But now I know why you're the way you are. Thanks for helping me understand why you're a fucking idiot. 😂

P.S. If you weren't here to start an argument, perhaps you shouldn't have started an argument? Seems like a pretty simple concept. Although simple concepts are usually completely lost on people that support things like Turning Point.

@Noctosphere So zero actual intelligent rebuttal of any sort whatsoever. Gee. How did I ever guess that would happen? Fucking stupid uneducated cunt. Another piece of shit to add to my ignore list to make this a better place to be.
