The problem is more likely the outdated cores. RetroArch Nightly works perfectly fine otherwise, it's just that some of the cores are outdated and cause crashesI downloaded RetroArch from the website, my bad. The link in the first post to the nightly build removed the warning.
Thank you, probably going to save me some headache in the future. The problem is more likely the outdated cores. RetroArch Nightly works perfectly fine otherwise, it's just that some of the cores are outdated and cause crashes
To forward retroarch roms:I just installed Retroarch, "does not support the current ABI", I got an error trying to install a core, anyone else experiencing problems with latest CFW?
Is there a way to get a shortcut to the main menu from a rom in Retroarch?
Did you find any better? I was using lcd-grid-v2-motionblur, the 'gba-color' one I found it too dark and washed colors, although you can tinker with the values but I'm too lazy for that. I know it tries to emulate the color output of the gba screen but I prefer a bit more vibrant colors. I'm trying the zfast_lcd and it's also pretty good.I tried searching this thread for more info about shaders, but couldn't find much. Is there an actual best GBA shader?
So far I've been using zfast_lcd. The color looks great but I'd kind want to reduce the gamma a bit, maybe to 0.75 or 0.5, but I can't. Any other shader that's similar to it that'll allow me to do this?
I mainly play in portable, right now playing Pokemon Unbound and having an amazing time. Aria of Sorrow and the Megaman Zero games look good with this shader too.
Nah, just kept using zfast.Did you find any better? It's not just micro stutters on snes. It's micro stutters on quite a few consoles. It's on genesis as well, and GBA. It's only really noticeable on the older emulators that run at 60fps.
When you are playing the vast majority of games for things like ps1, n64, etc, it's harder to notice the stutter because a lot of games run at 30fps Sometimes even less on the n64.
The problem is throughout retroarch on switch unfortunately.
Is this due to the GL driver as previously stated? Does changing to the switch software driver fix it for you?Has there been any movement on this? The stutter is still there.
You can easily test it using the 240p test suite on the Genesis GX. Butter smooth and then jerky approximately every 12.8 seconds or so. (My crappy stopwatch measuring).
It’s pretty annoying when playing the real retro 8-Bit and 16-Bit era games.

Maybe we'll get vulkan support at some point.
Yes it does, whether it's better is subjective but a lot of people prefer itdoes a linux install on the Switch have full use of the hardware? Would a linux install to make dedicated Retroarch machine better than using Retroarch on Horizon?
