PROJECT UPDATE

Howdy Gamers,

I said I was going to start updating the team's progress here as well, so here I am.

The team is making steady progress on the proofreads. We currently have done up to Day 10. We also went over the first two days again.
The first two days didn't change much. We mostly just cleaned up spelling and punctuation errors on it. (Technically we do that for everything we proofread, but we also try to spice up the lines a bit so they don't sound too stocky. The first two days were pretty good for that, so we didn't really need to mess with the actual dialogue.)

Only the Final Day and Post Game scripts remain to be proofread alongside item descriptions and the bestiary as well.

Once the proofreads are done, we're going to test the patch again. The first round of proofreads was to fix up any grammar/spelling errors and tidy the script up a bit.

We're going to test the game again from the beginning, focusing on the quality of the translation. I don't want the lines to be too stocky. (Don't worry. It shouldn't take too long. It's not like we have to comb through every single file again.)

I am going to start testing it as well. Honestly, I've mostly just been looking at text files for the translation/proofreading work. I've only booted up the game to check on a few things. I wouldn't feel comfortable releasing the patch if I don't play through the game fully, myself, at least once.

As always, there is no set release date. It's done when it's done.

If you all have any questions about the project, feel free to ask. I check this site every couple days or so.
 
I did found some typo's on the start, as well some incorrect wording in the workshop.
this is also during saving the game on the location which seems incorrect.
I don't know if this is already been fixed though.

some typo's, before battle (first time with Enzi) it has "ou" instead of "you".

later, I found but... You (should be lowercase Y).

after crafting, it says "hard spear eceived" but there are also places with double spaces.

why is it refer to "them" instead of the summon beast alone (he/she/summon beast name?)

it's to bad its only day one translated, not the rest.

but I'm glad this is still going as I love to beat this game in english.

I can help spotting some typo's, if needed, but there is also a graphic glitch when you
received the spear shapestone.

I could help with proofreading for typo's stuff if required as I spot typo's.
but I do hope there is a full english patch.

Thank you. All of these have pretty much been fixed already. The most recent public patch was around 2021 and only went up to the end of Day 1. We are more or less in the final stages of the project. We're about to go into the final round of testing soon, where we will hopefully manage to clean up all loose ends and make sure the whole thing is solid before releasing it.

I hope so too as it is one of the nicest game I played on GBA, I recently heard there was part 3 of the series, all I found
was Japanese and some bad english patches on Day 1.

than I found this one, that is much cleaner to follow, but I wonder why menu and items are separated
from the days and not throughout the game.

I did some digging on how to patch, but I don't get it as it seems complicated.

It's so hard to believe we will hopefully finally see the translation of this game after so many years
 
Project Update
Hello there,

I'm putting this update out a bit later in the month than I usually do.

So we 100% finished proofreading the game. We're currently testing the game to make sure all dialogue looks good with the full in-game context. You can't always get the full context from a text file. We are being extremely thorough with it. Once we finish that and settle the remaining issues, we will make a "final" patch (note the quotations around final.) We'll give the "final" patch another go around for good measure and if it meets our standards, then mission complete. If not, we'll revise it and make the final patch Season 2 Part 1 and do that cycle until we reach The Very Final patch.

Once it's finished, I'll upload it somewhere and link that here. I haven't really thought about that part much yet, to be honest. I know we will upload it on the Discord, but it isn't really fair to ask someone to join Discord just for a translation patch.

To clarify, this isn't saying that we will be done soon. There's only a bit left, but it is a volunteer project so I can't promise any deadlines. I'll be back around next month with another update. As always, if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. I check this site every couple days, although I'm not always logged in.
 
It's so close, I can taste it. Still remember the days when we used a custom orange website (Or was it yellow? Kinda in-between iirc) to have the community try to insert the translated script into the limited text space...

We have almost finished fixing up the last remaining bugs with the patch. There's one or two more graphics we have to tweak.

When that's finished we are going to make a patch that is as close to a final product as we can get. We'll test the patch one more time to make sure none of our fixes broke anything.

After that we'll fix anything else that might need fixing and then hopefully the patch should be in a state ready to be released.

As usual, we don't have a set time-frame for it to be done.

I do hope it work out smoothly without any issues.... so I can complete Summon Night, Swordcraft Story 3
finally as I did complete 1 and 2 again at 100%,

so don't give up, and we wait patiently on its release ^^
