Open the island on nhse, go to map editor
There are 4 tabs, I recommend dump the 4 tabs on a new folder
Open your save (make a copy just for safety)
Open map editor and import the files on each tab
Save and check it worked

On the map editor, check lower right corner, says dump/import

It says the file doesn’t fit on the map but other maps I have do fit or maybe it’s not the correct file type ??? It’s an island with 2.0 items.
 
Is there a way to add the items from the dump file to my existing inventory?
I have a .nhi file with all the items, but the items in my existing inventory are gone, so I can't add them.

You need to update from version 2.0 to 3.0.
After updating to version 3.0, you need to dump and apply the replacement map for it to work properly.

i am updated to 3.0 i just cant dump this 2.0 items TI it might be the wrong file type

NHI it's a item file, probably house storage file and NHL it's a map files, that could be the reason

Hold alt, press load and nhse will add the new NHI file without deleting your current inventory

I don't wanna promote my own app, but there is a tiny guide written to install and use it...
You need to be able to visit dream islands on your switch tho (i.e. be able to go online)

Wanted to thank everyone for sharing treasure islands here.

I got a question tho. For some reason my town hall plaza doesnt move with the building. So when i upload files i lose some items because my plaza was originally like dead center

Is there a step i need to do or am missing something to why my plaza doesnt move with the building

plaza its different from resident services, needs to be moved with diferent options
the latest version of nhse cant move the plaza, so use this version (its a previous version, but works fine with 3.0)
