Capcom is looking to release new Mega Man, DmC, and Ace Attorney games going forward

Capcom has a variety of beloved franchises that haven't seen much in the way of new entries as of late. A financial report from Capcom looking back on 2025 shows that the company did well, due to the successes of new Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter titles. The higher-ups at the company, however, believe that Capcom needs to have more frequent entries into some of its more stagnant IPs in order to continue growing in the years ahead. Specifically, it looks like we'll be seeing remakes, new games, and ports of three series in the future: Ace Attorney, Devil May Cry, and Mega Man. Capcom also plans to expand on one of its development offices by 2027, leading to hiring more employees to work on these theoretical games.

Capcom owns a wealth of globally popular brands, such as Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney. We aim to expand our user base and improve our performance through new releases, remakes, and ports of titles in these series to new hardware. By enhancing brand power and cultivating loyal fan bases, we will grow these into core IPs.

Far as mega man goes?
Legends 3.
a back to form Mega Man X?

Feels like obvious things to work toward.

Wouldn't mind seeing a new Breath of Fire; feels like a good thing to adapt MH engine stuff toward if to avoid franchise burnout.

I'm sorry, what are you referring to?

Both Ace Attorney 5 and 6 largely ignored where the previous game left off.
the jury experiment at the end of 4 hasn't amounted to much, and we still don't know what government or shadow organization the 5th game's "phantom" was working for.

I'm in the minority, for the platformer games Megaman are the Zero and ZX series are my favourite and as a whole Battle Network games are my one true love. I'm glad we're getting a collection of the Starforce games.

Can we please finish the Rockman X -> Zero storyline?
The problem is that doing so would solidify when and how the whole thing took place in the Mega Man timeline. Really, the colorful Mega Man series isn't compatible with a dark, world-changing event like the X storyline. The two make sense completely separate.

Even if a separate game or series devoted itself to The Event(tm), it may limit what kind of stories they could tack onto a mainline Mega Man game. Mega Man is really meant to go on indefinitely. Plus, The Event(tm) has been hyped since the first Mega Man X game 20+ years ago, so expectations would be high. It's less messy to just side-step the whole thing.

I do remember how Mega Man 10's storyline was discussed before release. People thought the Roboenza virus was going to be the catalyst for the beginning of the end, but it proved to be another one-off problem. It was interesting to see the fan speculation.

Yes, please, to some new Mega Man, especially if it's a Legends or Battle Network/Star Force style game.

Come to think of it, there's still no PC release of Puzzle Fighter HD Remix. What's up with that?

... Also we did all this last year already.

Megaman Classic -> Roboenza Virus -> Megaman X Reploids attacking -> Sigma Virus -> Megaman Zero -> Oops X got the Virus -> Reploid Wars over -> Megaman Battle Network -> Now everyone is a virus.

is that really the story ? I thought Battle Network and Starforce were separate universes and the main story goes megaman -> X -> Zero -> ZX -> legends

Isn't though?
I've played Megaman 1 - 10, X 1 - 7, Zero 1 - 4, Battle Network 1 - 6... ever wonder why in Megaman 8 Duo fights an invisible Evil?
Why in 9 suddenly Robots gets sick?
Why Sigma won't die? Why there's no X nor Zero in Zero games? Why suddenly there's Bass.exe and Protoman.exe in Battle Network?

About Starforce, those are cringe.

I looked it up.
Megaman Battle Network is an alternate universe.
in the main series,Dr. Light studies in robots with independent thought, in the battle network/Starforce timeline he studies networking. So similar and different at the same time. Makes me interested in a Megaman Battle Network Legends though
