I would like to just thank you for your continuous effort on this! I see that many people said it isn't worth the work since there are other versions to play, but as a GBA enthusiast I'd love to play it when complete. Recently I've got a Miyoo A30 and even if it runs NDS, my wife and I are going through the GBA catalog and she is finding much joy in it. We intend to keep doing so, and the practicality of emulating GBA games on a non-touchscreen device is another big plus.
Can't wait for the finished game.

Hi there.

Well, that was meant to be a surprise, but now that the cat is out of the bag, we can no longer hide or deny it.

A lot of effort has been put behind the scenes into bringing 3 lines back into the English GBA port of GS1. We closely worked with MCBoy and PhoenixBound (disassembly/decompilation/authoring of original code) and @OmegaTheGreat (Spanish translation) for a long time to completely rewrite the Variable-width font routine and bring it to a whole new level, allowing 3-lines, text-centering, faster rendering, reloading the text after saving and reloading the, and even making the text sound much closer to the DS version.

The Spanish translation made a release earlier, so it featured it first.

Me and Spazzery have been considering to provide two versions of the English patch: a 2-line one and a 3-line one. Ofc all the scripts of the game and some graphics will have to be re-adjusted for 3 lines of text in the latter, so it will come a little later than the 2-lines version, which is already very close to completion.

Since the patch that will feature case 4 will mark the completion of the game, and will be the final release, we've been planning to polish every corner of the same before releasing it. But if anyone would be interested in playing a pre-final, potentially buggy, Alpha preview of the complete game, we could provide a Alpha release a lot earlier, for you to test and report back any issues you find.
I would love to test it too! (if possible)
Can't wait to see GS2 translation and maybe a GS3 update.

You're aware you can get the full game and all its sequels right now on Android/Steam/iOS and various other platforms, right? And those are just your legal options.
I know i know but i want the gba version because it has a mechanic called "quick save" that can help me finish the case without any mistakes but i guess you're right maybe i am just impatient thank you for telling me

Id be happy to assist testing it out for you

My first time playing the series. I've always dreamt of playing it but decided against it once because of the localization. Just finished the third case and really enjoyed the experience. The feel, the pixelated art, the sounds, and the small screen on a handheld console... I was thinking of testing the GBA releases with just beating one game, but dunno now haha. I will wait for now until your next update to beat the game and continuing the series. Thanks for you hard work. Gyakuten Saiban was meant to be played on a GBA and was putted in mind the handheld experience and the low resolution of the screen, so no wonder it feels this right for the characters to be between your two hands. (and the remasters spirits look weird as if they were trying really hard to make the game for new hardwares but failed(?))

A-Mia-zing!

Fwiw, if you really want to play AA now, I will say that the DS releases are very good and make good use of the second screen. It looks exactly like the gba version, but sounds slightly better and plays better due to the second screen.

Unfortunately, I don't have a handheld console other than the PSVita. But I'm planning on playing the DS releases with the games after Ace Attorney 3. After this experience, I think I became thirsty for the original releases haha or that my subconscious think I shouldn't play the series if it isn't pixelated (and meant to be pixelated)

Agh talking to you made me more excited lol and I'm glad. One of my aquaintances said that he got enough of the game after one case, and I'm still excited after almost beating the game so good for me

Modded PS Vita is capable of running Ace Attorney DS games fine. I personally tested it. The emulator is still not perfect but AA and AAI games seem to run just fine

Although DS emulation is getting better as time passes I think this is still relevant. Please dont give up. Im dying to play the second game on my wii via VBAGX. There is a lot of emulation devices that could use this translation and cannot do the DS one (also i dont like the DS emulation on a single screen device. I know it exist a ds version for the wii but i dont talk about that. Only the DS emulation on wiiU i would say its convinient) (I know there are dual screen devices also, ok)

Sorry for my ignorance on this... But these episodes were never released outside of Japan? Or are they translated on the DS/3DS already?
