I don't think this is a software related issue. I think it's either the sd card contacts or faulty sd card. before anyone starts trying to solder anything, shut down, remove sd card, clean sd card gold contacts (I use WD-40, but some may frown upon that).

I also stuck a very small piece of tape on the sd card, the opposite side to the contacts, to 'shim' the card and force it nearer to the contact pins in the sd card reader, but be very careful. maybe only use something as thin as a piece of sellotape

Dear all,
what would you recommend in this case? As you can see in the picture, the last pin on the second row is gone....:hateit:

You could replace the connector, but an easier fix would be to solder a wire from the test point on the motherboard onto the SD card reader. The reader would be permanently tethered.

Same problem, but I cant repair my switch by myself (I got a replacement slot......it worked but only if I put pressure wit my finger on it if I release finger it wont read the SD anymore)
Have you tried to put a thin pad to keep pressure applied, or maybe some some paper?

thank you! nice tip but not exactly matching my skills :P

That pin is GND, it's not important.
The second pin from each corner are the DAT pins. Possibly the pin next to the missing one is cracked.
In any case you should test each pin with a multimeter.

My cousin's Switch looks the same as yours. Missing GND pin, but everything else tested OK. I couldn't find the fault. Supposedly it is common for the pins to develop hairline cracks. When you test them with a multimeter, they might test OK since you are applying pressure with the probe. I think replacing the connector would probably fix his Switch, but it's beyond my ability. And without being able to tell which pin is the problem I would need to blindly solder jumper wires to every single test point and it was just too many wires in a tight space and they kept desoldering which was frustrating me.

Hello everyone,
I brought the console to a repairing center, they replaced the flat 16 pin fpc connector on the motherboard; keep in mind that before this issue happened, I successfully replaced the emmc card due to the slow mode: I was able to boot into hekate. Now, if I try to boot into hekate from tegrarcm gui 2.6 nothing happens (I was able to do that before), in few words, tegra freezes and get stuck invoking tegrarcmsmash.exe.....The technician tested the console and I found it with the OWF launched so I turned it off. I am using the original nintendo's cable with the SD Card and relative hekate's folder.....What's happening guys, any suggestion?
Please
