Not worth it in my own opinion. Left me with a few questions on who did what to whom.

The 90th birthday. Watched it 3 weeks ago. A classic short movie about a woman who is celebrating her birthday
with her butler, which is getting more and more drunk, because he has to replace all the missing guest, and drink up for them

Used Jdownloader to get it from Youtube

The Room. I watch this movie every June 27 to celebrate the anniversary of its theatrical premiere. Still a masterpiece. It should've topped the New York Times' Best 100 Movies of the 21st Century list. It's the best movie of all time. No other movie has made me laugh as much as this one, and I've seen this close to 20 times! I first watched it a little over 10 years ago and it has changed my life. Seriously, it's the greatest "so bad it's good" movie. Watching it opened my eyes to entertaining trash, and generally contributed to me watching more low-budget movies.

Bad pacing, laughable script, non believable plot (yes, I understand)... How come a movie who's main target are children that aren't into Comics didn't clicked with old audiences?
Paul Rudd is being the same as always, felt like a "F.R.I.E.N.D.S." episode in which Joey turned into a giant head after drinking, and Phoebe saved the day after she messed around with Ross' Alient Ant-Farm.
Maybe with another direction this movie could've been better.
It's not bad, but totally skippable bavk then and even more now that Jonathan Majors ain't getting anywhere near from chocking Ironheart or Ms.Marvel.

PS: Paul Rudd is not bad... but it's like trying to believe Steve Carrell playing the main role in The Pianist.

The supposed plot going around for the now gone "Avengers Kang Dynasty" sure was going to be exciting to say the least, but meh...

Constantine (2005) - Blade is to Marvel as Constantine is to DC. This movie gave me some Blade vibes, especially the one-man army scene in the mental institution. This was a very stylish movie, with CG that I feared would drag the movie down, but it wound up not being so bad. Such a unique blend of theology, action, horror, and noir. I don't know if this movie adapts the DC comic perfectly, but it was certainly a dark comic book movie. Perfectly cast movie, with Keanu leading in what I think is the best movie he did in the 2000s. I think I appreciate this movie more the 2nd the time than the first, which was over 10 years ago.

I know what you did last summer.

Yeah... no...
Plot is full of convenient situations and LOTS OF PHYSICS ARE WRONG... but then again, it's a movie aimed at young audiences.

The best parts are:
- Brie Larson (have had a big crush on her since her singing days... not saying she's a good singer though)
- Cats
- Strong lesbian energy (I can tell because I'm lesbian)

The worst parts:
- Everything else
- It handles a lot of jokes
- Cats won't eat Indians
- Black Woman turns white for once
- Black woman turns nice for once
- Aliens speaks English and their ruler in K-pop singer?
- 🤮 (<- this actually happens, a lot)

How To Train Your Dragon (2025)

It's a frame by frame remake of the animated film, so if you liked that one... you've obviously watched it so there's no point in seeing this one.

Gerard Butler as Stoick the Vast did his best to channel Brian Blessed, and mostly succeeded.

I like the animated one so I liked this one too. Let's hope they don't ruin it by making sequels.

I watched this recently too. I didn't have any questions about anything but didn't like it much. Was very boring and predictable, imo. Doesn't surprise me much because I didn't like he directors last movie (Talk to Me) either.

Went to see Superman today and gotta say it was great!

I was very apprehensive going in... The trailers looked a bit of a mess, dc IS a mess, was not feeling Nicholas Holt as Luthor but he fuckin nailed it! Personally feel he had a vibe of Micheal Rosembuams Luthor in Smallville. (Mini spoiler... Who had a small voice roll in the movie i found out today!)

Highly recommended if you like your comic movies.

I've been hearing so many mixed things. I've been curious about this one because James Gunn's reputation has been all over the place.

People liked Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2, and I hear the third one is poignant but not as strong as the first two. Word of mouth on the new Superman seems like it's closer to GotG3. Your review is the most positive one I've seen so far.

Hey, it's not perfect but it's a fun romp if you don't take it too seriously. The humour and a few scenes felt very GoG but meh, DC needs this vibrance of colour back.... We're done with the moody broody boring suspense and I think it's been said by Gunn... We don't ever need to see Matha Wayne's pearls hit the ground again and rely on overly complicated suspense lore explanations... Although i will admit there is a major lore change that has divided a lot of fans. (Happy to discuss 😂)

But all in all, we know who these people are, how they got there and what the MO is.... This just jumps right into where they're at right now and tells for me an enjoyable, actual Superman story.

Interesting. I completely agree, Batman's origin story has become comical because of its repetition. You don't always need to start from scratch, but I think it's a fallback in situations like this because it's already been well-established. Less writing = Faster production

That may have been the difference between DC and Marvel, now that I think about it. Characters like Iron Man and Thor didn't have origin movies (that I can think of), so Marvel could make a real splash with them. They're different while appealing to comic book fans, action fans, etc. Superman and Batman are generally well known and have had a few movies, making new origin story movies redundant by 2010.

I know that, for Zack Snyder's Superman, there was division over how he defeated the enemy in his movie. I'm curious what they muddied this time around.

Well Iron Man and Cap had origin movies however Thor did not really, it was more an introduction since we see him lose his powers and then regain them... At a critical time storywise of course as Marvel were leading up to the Avengers with these three characters but yeah, we already know Thor is the god of lightning and we're just thrown into a point in Thor's life but all with the single bigger picture in mind.

DC have had no direction, and i pardon the pun but they had no endgame to work towards. It was reboot after reboot and hoping they would just sail on the Superhero/comic bandwagon but the truth is the MCU done it so much better.

If that's what the Gunnverse is aiming to do then I'd say this was a good reintroduction to Big Blue!

Time Cut.
Netflix was showing me their range of horror movies, and this one caught my eye as it has both the girl from Ginny and Georgia and the girl from Outer Banks (think we've given up on that, but we enjoyed it for a while). Very mediocre ratings but decided to give it a go anyway. Silly time travel slasher movie, what more could you want? And yeah I wouldn't call it a great movie but I enjoyed it.

Green Lantern (2011) - It sucked, everyone knows that. I just watched it so I'd get more context for a podcast I like that is set to roast it. Terrible CGI, flat performances from an admittedly stacked cast, bad direction, sloppy editing, very dull, and very soulless. A painful reminder of why origin stories are played out as the first half of the movie is basically the original story and the second half doesn't offer much of a payoff. It is a waste of time, there's hardly anything entertaining about it. I laughed a few times from the bad CGI and Peter Sarsgaard's screaming. Other than that, it's just trash. It would've had a better shot if it came out in the early or mid-2000s because it does remind me of Spider-Man to an extent, but much more lifeless. The best thing that came out of this was Ryan Reynolds trashing it in Deadpool.
