tldr; will tinfoil function on a switch jail-broken by following the NH Switch Guide when not in applet mode

while it would be slightly annoying to back to mall to find the cheapest switch game I can find, its clear to me that i do not have the skill to find an work around.

anyway my attempts to find a way to to install an signal game with out tinfoil have fail and has resulted in two broken titles .. game ( i am not sure what would be right terms for this would be) as seen bellow

( if you squint enough you can see two loading symbols, sorry that i could not take a higher quality image)

is there any way to remove them.

Hey people, i had a switch v1 and i'm on atmosphere cfw on fw 19.01.xx. Last evening the switch was online (which was no Problem in the past cause i had installed bypass etc. but now it forces me to update. I have some strange Nintendo ads on standyby screen, i can't see my Firmware Version anymore and if i want to Start games it says i can update, turn the switch in standby or start the game. Did Nintendo autoupdate my switch vor just want that i brick it? I'm in airplane mode again now without wifi, didn't update. Is there something i could do?

Hello, while trying to solder the pico 2040 mod, i realized i was using the wrong one (too late, sadly)
I thought of removing it gently would be fine but i ended up ripping both capacitors (they are still attached to the pico 2040 mod)
Luckily the switch still turns on, can i still mod it or is it botchered?
It's a switch lite and i had the oled mod, if its still doable i'll get the lite mod.

Attached the photo of the disaster

Go into maintenance mode in order to clear cache and pending update nag. I assume you're using sysNAND CFW or something? If so, here's how:
  1. Make sure that your Internet connection is disabled if you're connected right now and remove any saved connections as well (unless you have DNS MITM in place).
  2. Turn off your console (when in home menu, hold the power button for a few seconds and select power off).
  3. While holding the volume + and volume - buttons at the same time, press the power button. Keep holding until you get into maintenance mode. At this point the cache is cleared as well as any pending update, you don't need to press and/or select anything.
  4. Press the power button once again. It'll shut down the console and exit the maintenance mode.
  5. Boot into CFW the way you usually do and make sure to activate flight mode. (Connecting to the Internet is safe only if you have DNS MITM in place.)
  6. Update nag should be gone now.
Otherwise, if you're on emuNAND CFW, it's a bit different:
  1. Make sure that your Internet connection is disabled if you're connected right now and remove any saved connections as well (unless you have DNS MITM in place).
  2. Turn off your console (when in home menu, hold the power button for a few seconds and select power off).
  3. Right before you send your fusse.bin payload, hold volume + and volume - at the same time. Keep holding until you get into maintenance mode (you'll see Atmosphere bootlogo first, Switch logo after that one). After a while your Switch should enter into the maintenance mode.

IF I EVER FIND THE PERSON WHO SAID IT WOULD BE FINE TO UPDATE MY SWITCH BEFORE MODING I AM GOING TO STRANGLE THEM

As far as I know, there are no disadvantages to update the Switch before modding it. If you just mean Tinfoil doesn't work on the latest firmware, what keeps you from using other, better apps, like DBI to install your games?

It is fine and it depends on your use case. If you use sysNAND for legit games and online play and emuNAND for CFW stuff, sooner or later you'll have to update. If you're using sysNAND CFW and not using any pirated stuff, once again, you'll probably need to update at some point. If you're just using your Switch for pirated content, 19.0.1 is fine. 20.0.1 will get there once the issues get ironed out.

DBI + finding and downloading the games you'd like to play from trusted websites is much easier than relying on Tinfoil and its free shops.

I do see the apeal of using Tinfoil and its free shops, but DBI works much better if you can get around the fact that the latest version is only available in Russian (latest English release should work just fine as well if using for installs only at the very least). Getting files online for Switch games isn't that hard either, unless you're looking for a certain obscure game or some showelware that hardly anyone played.

edit: wait if download signature patches will my tickets problem be fixed
edit2: it worked

Thanks a lot for your answer. That was really helpful :) it worked so i can Start games without this annoying message before and i can See my actual fw again in the system settings.in standyby screen there is still this "Nintendo Highlight message" but i guess that's okay if anything else is working right now. Thanks! :)

I was trying to download the 60FPS mod for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle on the forums, but I keep getting a 403 Forbidden error. Is there a reason for this and/or an alternate way of getting the mod in question?
Try Ultra NX. It is much better than 4fir, etc. Your games and saves won't dissappear, only homebrews

i regret not getting a bigger sd card, so anyway quick question how hard are flash carts to set up
You mean MIG Switch? As long as you have full dumps and they are properly structured, you format the SD card to exFAT and understand the ban risks, it's easy.

i've managed to recover the console fully.
OFW is 20x. CFW with atmos is 19x.
i did emuMMC it was before to be safe.

now i need advice ))
can i create a sdcard with sysMMC and swap them. could there be any issues?
i want 1 sd to be prepdared for emuMMC (i can load OFW there) and other sysMMC so it will have more space.

I wouldn't recommend switching back and forth between two different SD cards. Some people have broken their SD slot doing that. It's fragile on the Switch, or at least it was. I don't know if Nintendo ever fixed it in later revisions of the hardware. It would probably be best to just buy a bigger SD card, and create partitions for your needs.

Hello, is it possible to add edited clips back to the Switch Album?

When I upload the MP4 file to emuMMC > Raw1 > Nintendo > Album > <number> > File.mp4, it doesn’t show up in the Album.

Is it possible to make a forwarder to a single retroarch core rather than a rom within??

I've tried making one for GensPlus GX wide and while it does work... A few roms simply crash it back to cfw menu.

Edit...

Nevermind! Got it going with Pgen which seems to run better all in! Just need to figure out how to use Skraper now!

I hope this is the right place to ask these questions!

So let me start off with saying this, I’m 100% a complete newbie when it comes to using a modded switch.
I have a little knowledge with using a modded 3DS, and I foolishly thought it’d work the same way with a Switch, but dang, I’m kinda learning the hard way that it’s kinda not the same…

I sent my Switch Lite off to have it modded and just got it back about 2 weeks ago.
I’m not sure what kind of mod chip the modder installed, but I do know that it does have Hekate v6.3.0.

My two questions are:

1. Is it possible to move back and forth from CFW to OFW?
I hear that it’s totally possible, and I do have some games that I’d like to continue using for online play (Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon HOME being the biggest reasons), but I’m really not sure how to do it yet. I’ve come across a few guides for getting back to OFW, but even though I’m following the instructions, it never seems to boot back into it. When selecting OFW on Hekate, all it does is shut off my switch entirely. It boots into emuMMC just fine, though.

2. Before sending off my Switch to have it modded, I stored all of my Pokémon into Pokémon HOME (I wasn’t sure if they’d be lost when the modder was working on my switch or anything, so I was being cautious). Should I ever get back into OFW, can I still get my Pokémon out of HOME without getting banned?

3. I’m using the same 64GB SD card that came with my Switch Lite when I purchased it from EBay and before I had it modded.
I’m trying to reinstall some of my older games onto it, but I keep getting the same error messages over and over again regardless of which installer I use.

Here’s what I get when using DBI through MTP Responder:

And here’s what I get when using Awoo Installer + nsusbuploader:

Has anyone else ever have this issue before, and if so, would you happen to know a way to fix this?
Is my issue just that I need a bigger SD card, or is it something else?

I’ve been stumped on these issues for days and finding a straightforward solution is starting to feel impossible.
Googling the problem leads me to Reddit posts with similar issues, yet, either zero answers that make sense or (possibly) outdated answers from like—4 or 5 years ago, and I’m not sure if they’re solutions that still work or not.

As someone that’s a complete newbie in this kind of thing and doesn’t really wanna risk accidentally banning/bricking it, I’d rather not take the guessing-game risk. Sorry for the long post, but I’m glad to provide anymore information regarding these issues if anyone needs them. Any help will be appreciated greatly!
