Grand Theft Auto VI trailer 2

Hot on the heels of the delay announcement, Rockstar is attempting to appease its fans with a brand new trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. The second official trailer, it gives over two minutes of a glimpse of what GTA VI has to offer in terms of story and visuals. If you hadn't heard already, Grand Theft Auto VI will be out May 26, 2026.

they're nailing the Florida vibe here, from what's shown the story seems to be about cops vs criminals (2 main characters).
having a male and female playable should allow for some variation in gameplay/ way to experience the game, so they probably thought about it thoroughly before committing to it. though i think if it was a linear type game a 2 playable characters one cop and the other a criminal would be pretty cool, but probably that wouldn't work so well on a gta game, unless they become friends or something by the end of main story (no one's killed or jailed)

The majority of GTA fans ARE oldies. The franchise had 6 games out by the time you were born.
Exactly. It's such a weird argument, like "hey, look, I actually fall for marketing hype but you don't so you're stupid".

Hype for games is so different these days because the marketing is pretty much inescapable in our social media echo chambers. Video trailers like this etc leave nothing to the imagination. Try living off screenshots in a magazine for 2 years and trusting the box art or a review in another $20 import magazine.

Then in the case of GTA3 downloading one CD on ISDN while a friend across town gets the other one on their 256k DSL then biking around 10km to their house at 3am with a burned CD to put them together and play it.

We understand hype!

As for the trailer I was wondering why it was at 30fps. At the end it says it was captured on PS5 so if it doesn't have a performance mode I won't be too sad since the visuals are pretty amazing.

NGL, not impressed. Preredored shit doesn't impress me. This isn't going to live up to the years in development hell, price, or hype
This. I can't stand when video game companies just show cut scenes, and not game play. Pretty much any video game can look pretty, if you just show cut scenes. I think it'll make its money back, but won't outsell GTA V.

I'll probably play it, once I actually play and beat GTA V and IV. lol

Yet for some reason y'all are so pessimistic about this one now??

This game is built for this future's generations
Priorities change in people who become older. They've been let down, understand disappointment, understand not getting their hopes too high. I laughed at your previous post when you said "we're gonna eat!!" made me think of someone who is going to make money or works for the company to try and hype up their own product. I appreciate your youthful aspect cause it shows hope, but there will be time when you start to understand the older aspect and the lack of rose-colored glasses.

Edit:
For the people who are older; most likely have played the previous games-- I recall playing the original (GTA1) as a demo over and over cause it seemed so new and cool. I played GTA5 back in 2013 on the 360. Played it once and that was it. Didnt touch it again. And had no care for multiplayer cause of all the cheating/random backstabbing killing I heard about it. Not my cup of tea. I'm all for single player games with stories and the added fun. Companies are tried to push more for multiplayer everything, online only, so you're locked into their system. Less ways of trying to pirate that too. It's more about control and $.

There's also trust

You've may have experienced many mistakes, failures, fights or deaths (I had it rough too, losing loved ones) but that shouldn't stop the future of change, a future that things will get better, a future that you're still here, fighting strong, because despite everything, you're still you

Despite everything in the world, I believe in this game. I believe there's always light at the end of the tunnel. Good among bad, that outshines everything.

The game that my people, my generation, had hoped for, and never gave up on for years.

If everything works out, it'll be worth it.

What would be the best way to enjoy this in all its graphical glory without having to buy a new PC or next gen console?
Aka which streaming service can you recommend where I could play this in 4K on my OLED TV?

The only game I really like of the was 4 and have it for 360.

Speaking of this though, and I do not really care, it amassed 26 million views in 6 hours on YouTube.

oh wow, now that I looked more into it, I saw that principal development started in 2018 but they began preliminary work in 2014/2015. I was truly mistaken
Cause the video leak... That build was from 2018 and... It was far too advanced to be started in same year... Another reason.

Come on, you can't be serious.

you know they dont just throw away the engines from previous games and when making gta5 they used gta4 assets as framework that cut the development time in half for the initial rough beta builds they polish to completion. its not a direct copy paste but alot of trivial things can work initially without having to tweak code until you start making enhancements.

things have changed with AI where now if people are working smart and efficient they a year isnt much time to put together something as advanced as what we saw in 2018.

I remember being really hyped about GTA 5 before it came out but I don't really feel anything about this one. There are simply too many massive-but-empty open world games now. This one will just have better graphics and more cut scenes than most.

Based on your previous posts you were ~7 years old when GTA V came out on X360, most likely not playing this game on release (it is rated PEGI 18 after all), yet you are talking big about waiting for years and having hope. No offense but it was quite hilarious to be honest to read. ;)

Same here, sadly no hype for GTA VI from my side. It will sell well I'm sure of it and that's ok, I wish them the best. GTA V was indeed quite pretty and immersive although I've finished it once, played some online on X360 during release with my wife (had two copies of it and XBLs) and that's it. I've also tried online on PC years later, however due to the kids mostly playing this game (talk about PEGI rating...) I've passed on this one. I also do remember replaying GTA1 demo many times (it had some sort of time limit if I remember correctly?) as well as running GTA w/ 3DFX acceleration in DOS under Glide for the first time. :) Good times, but to be fair I do not miss them that much. We got a lot of crappy games too, hardware was getting obsolete after a year and was very expensive compared to salaries (this applies to many EU countries). Too bad that todays gaming sucks pretty much (there are of course many exceptions, but AAA is imo slowly dying) despite having so much superior HW, stable APIs and awesome tooling available compared to what was available during my youth.
