Can someone help me please


So basically when I try to install games on tinfoil they finish almost instantly but then they just don't show up and no space is tooken from my SD card, sometimes the games do show up but it tells me that I need to purchase the game. Please help

I have an XCI file with an integrated update, I want to extract the base game and its update and convert them into seperate files. The update is now in the form of a bunch of loose NCA files in a folder called "update" but I can't convert them back into an NSP file. All the tools I find will only convert one individual NCA file into one individual NSP without repacking them.

nspBuild asks for an npdm file which I don't know how to obtain, there was nothing like that when I extracted everything from my XCI.

Just as an FYI, never EVER download anything from a YouTube video or even follow one. They are known to cause issues and are not supported by any members of the community.

You should ALWAYS download the patches from this thread moving forward.

Tried to use Edizon Overlay but it crashes, checked twice if it was the most up to date version and it is so is the whole thing not working anymore?

I believe the Edizon Tesla Overlay its broken, so there's a fork of that for newer versions if I remember right

Could you please explain me more of how to install that, or instead an alternative? I ended broking Tinfoil trying to do it myself lol.

NH Switch Guide has a section for Edizon
from the instructions, it mentions the Tesla Overlay from the original its broken
and it instead links to a mantained Edizon Overlay for newer Atmosphere versions

Edizon hasn't been updated in years
so you should also check Edizon SE as well

I been using Goldleaf and Awoo myself (the second mostly thanks to its Network Install feature)

DBI still receives regular updates, latest version I've seen is v776, but the catch is, it's only updated in Russian. Latest English version is ancient, v658. I've heard good things about TinWoo also, but I never tried it personally.

I still use and prefer Awoo, its does everything I need it to.

Latest beta release is from 5 days ago. I've never used it myself so I can tell whether it works good or not, but I'd assume that it does its job. I'm personally using JKSV, as it was recommended by NH Switch Guide. Never run into an issue (and I'm still running the 2023 version, not the latest).

Latest Russian-only version of DBI + dbibackend works perfectly fine for me, I never run into any issues while installing the games. If the language is not a problem for you, go for it.
Otherwise, Tinwoo Installer + NS USBLoader is probably the way to go.

Aren't there forks for DBI that translate the recent release in English?
for the moment, I had to download the last English release as I needed to use a feature that deletes orphan files on the SD Card from failed installs or left over tickets

Must asume that version got problems with the recent updates made with Atmosphere and the like, which is why I am asking to know if there's an English fork out there

Other than creating unnecessary clutter on your SD card, it doesn't really hurt.

I personally like to keep the number of apps on my SD card as low as possible and avoid having e.g. multiple title installers or unnecessary apps that I'll hardly ever use. I do keep the copies of the latest builds for some of the apps on my PC that I don't actively use but might find useful in the future, mainly because some repositories come and go. Archive.org does have backups for most of the stuff, but still I find it more convenient to just update my backups.

Only if your lite has been modded with a modchip, and you can run homebrew (Checkpoint, JKSV).
