How'd you confirm? I reached out in the discord to buy one but nobody bit.
Yes.. u see only the normal channel.. we have also private channels for the "known" tester, mods and admins.

Why would anyone make such an elaborate scam?
Some people just want to see the world burn or get attention. Some just don't have a conscience.

I've been saying for many years that I wish people would take that pent up energy and make stuff that improves our lives and makes the world a better and more enjoyable place. Instead they'd rather be malicious and create mayhem. I guess I was raised different.

It's possible they thought reverse engineering the MiG firmware would be easier than it was, so they delayed and delayed and realized they missed their chance. Tbh not sure why they didn't just say it was a cheaper open source mig clone at that point, but i guess they came out the gate saying it explicitly wasn't that.

Its supposedly that is what the OpenMig Project is trying to do, the firmware you can download for the MIG is encrypted and yo can not dump the Firmware from a working device, remember the MIG have 2 devices on it, the FPGA and the ESP32 both have firmware and both are encrypted.

The OpenMig project is one big joke.. Unlockswitch was also behind it.

Objectively speaking, the gerbers from OpenMig are actually pretty good. Below is a side-by-side comparison of all 4 layers of the PCB I reverse-engineered on the left and OpenMig's PCB on the right.

The two are very similar, and this was definitely created as a board that they intended on being a proper clone. However, the bottom layer doesn't have pins 1 and 2 separated, so this design will not work with the button as I previously pointed out in post #1698.

Apart from that though, I don't see anything wrong, and I think their board would work either as a V1 clone or a V2 clone if someone cut the two pins like in the V1 to V2 conversion guide that MIG linked to.

As for OpenMIG being an arm of UnlockSwitch, why did UnlockSwitch make their own clone flashcart and then also the OpenMIG one? I know you are a bit of an insider with them, so how do you know that the two are the same team?

This is 100% it. RE'ing the hardware is challenging, but doable. The software, however, likely requires low-level exploits or physically decapping the chip to extract the binaries on it, all of which is much more involved. They cloned the hardware and transplanted the chips, thought that they only had a few weeks/months of work left to clone the software, and then the project ended there.

You'll never guess, guys. UnlockSwitch has a plan(tm), to be revealed at some unspecified point in the future. Whod've guessed!

"We’ve received a lot of DMs asking if our project has been canceled. It seems there are some people working behind the scenes. This isn’t the first time, and it definitely won’t be the last—we’re starting to get used to it.So, to clarify: NO, our project is not canceled—quite the opposite. We’re opening our doors and launching a program for those eager to join. This time, we’ll be selecting 5 to 10 participants based on our criteria, considering their profile and skills. Stay tuned—full details coming tomorrow.FYI : Beta testers, we haven’t forgotten about you We’ll be reaching out to each of you individually on X."

Lmao. Anyone who still believes these guys is a well and true sucker.

I’ve given up waiting for software for it. I threw my “review unit” in a drawer months ago.. if anything ever happens and it’s not a plastic brick, please let me know.
@TheStonedModder is looking for one to see what differences there are, if any, compared to a MiG. I'm sure he'd love to borrow it.

Have you tried adding Mig files/ firmware on a SD card, then insert it into your test unit, to see if it works?

I asked about this and was told it doesn’t work.

There is no software on the chips. They’re completely blank.

I created the OpenMig page in order of UnlockSwitch. 😉.
UnlockSwitch sended me the Gerber... as private info and i was not able to share.. but this guy lost his mind because he is a big liar!. He lost his trust in me, said a lot of bullsh*t and that was the reason that i published the files.

You can upload those files also to your Github!😁.

Here are the original casefiles for UnlockSwitch's card and programmer.

They are crying in a forrest with a lot of crickets now, they blocked me on X.. 🤣 because his words today was looklike he was talking to one of his crickets.. a lot of chirps😅.

The image as attachment was my latest msg on the OpenMig page.. after it he changed the password and removed my access.

Thanks!
Yeah we all are very pissed off. He can learn something about communication... thats never been his strongest point.. its a lot if chirp sounds... my lizard is getting hungry about that.. 🤣

A lot of promises about releasing the software.. but if he release it.. every firmware package have his own unique id for each card. They build in a uid checker..

They need to match (serials on Ic with their software).. otherwise its not working.. (thats what they said).

So its not completely "open" source.. 🦗😂
