Is there any way to tweak a New 3DS XL's audio drivers, specifically to change the pitch? I've got a nasty hearing disorder that makes everything sound pitched up by, like, maybe 5%. For instance, songs in the key of C major now sound like they're in the key of C# major. It's a pretty consistent half step up.

Thanks,
Mel

there's no reason why it would be impossible, whether it would require hardware modification or if it could be done in just software, but that kind of knowledge really goes beyond what the people on here would actually be qualified to help with tbh

you might have better luck asking those working on custom firmware, issue reports are open on github for potential feature requests but they can take a while to respond there. I'm not sure if they are active anywhere else

otherwise there's the people who documented the hardware and software on 3dbrew, who would have a better idea of how much work it would be to do something like this. neobrain, steveice10, ichfly, yellows8, plutooo, merry, but I dont really know how you would go to contact most of those people, or if they would even be willing to receive these kinds of questions (and steveice kind of probably isnt legally allowed to do anything 3ds related anymore too which doesnt help)

and also, they might be able to give insight on it, but they probably wouldnt be willing to just do the work to make it happen just because someone asked. but the insight on how it would have to be done could be used later by someone else willing to make it happen at least

Thank you for replying in such depth! I'll consider my options

Hello folks,

Tried to play Animal Crossing: New Leaf today. When launching the software it always asks if I want to update it, which obviously won't work. According to the site I downloaded it from, the file is version 6.2.0. The game seems to play fine, but do I need a more up-to-date file, or am I just fine to keep playing?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry to bump this again - It just occurred to me to ask which github page I should be opening an issue report on, since that might be my most viable "in" with CFW enthusiasts. I see several 3DS hacking pages on github. Should it be on the one by Luma3DS?

EDIT: I made an issue report on Luma3DS's page!

Edit 2: Yeah, there's no way to change it. Goddamn shame

yeah that sucks, but at least someone who knows how this stuff works was able to give a real answer

I've had the sound pitch shift thing a couple times but it was temporary. if it's a permanent thing for you then some kind of hearing aid might be the best option for general quality of life, but those can be expensive

Hi,

I have 2x 3DS consoles I nodded years ago and forgot the exploit used, 1 boots into Gateway from the HBL screen ( auto boots into it on power on, but have to press Dpad Down after selecting Gateway to stop it booting in a loop to HBL so it boots into the 3DS main screen to play).

The second was set up the same but a different button was set and forgot - then changed it to run Luma.

I have a third one which won't boot at all, I may have accidentally uninstalled a system related app using FBI when I was removing pre installed game demo's.

I firstly would like to know if its possible to recover my 3DS, NOTHING seems to work that I have tried so far:
° Using either ad cards from working consoles to see if that exploit kicks in on console power on
° CAN enter factory recovery mode to download/install latest firmware, but it FAILS the final step connecting, connects to router, confirms credentials, then FAIL
° tried setting up fresh SD card with Godmode9 (which sounds familiar, but its been like 9 or so years since I've done anything with my 3DS), but nothing, just black screen (Blue light)

If that console is FUBAR, how easy is it to move over to CFW, ideally I want to have the ability to create cheat codes again, I prefer the likes of Gateway because its cheat function plus not requiring 2x storage for game then its install, a single rom is far better.

Are there any cheat tools for CFW that allows you to scan, dump for pointer scanning.

I also have a Sky3DS+ card, can these work on CFW so I can just run rom files vs having cia installers.

Thanks

Many problems that are otherwise undefeatable can still be corrected with an ntrboot flashcart, one way or another.

You can use custom-install to install titles to your SD card instead of FBI if you're concerned about that. I think it's built into Godmode9 now.

Firstly I need to find a way to get it to boot, ideally before the console itself or if theirs means to manually install the console firmware.

I am not trying to be mean but people generally here won't really support Gateway/Sky3ds. Your third one you can try ntrboothax see if you can revive it.
