To be fair Nintendo would never start a reveal with a video like that. They would have some kind of reveal trailer.

If Jan is true, Nintendo is going to steal some CES thunder from people. It also means I would have been right.

Whilst I'd love a march release I just don't expect it. Even if they announced next week I don't think they'd reach launch that quickly. You need an announcement, presentation, and launch marketing. Generally that takes a solid 5 or so months.

Wouldn't get my hopes up. Nintendo has been SEVERELY lacking in new games this entire generation. Remake after remake. What's coming up this month? Oh, yea... another remake (Donkey Kong Returns HD... as if anything at all on the switch is HD).

I would have preferred something that also works with Joy-Cons attached.. I can count the number of times I've used my Switch in tabletop mode on one hand. But who knows, maybe I'll change my mind.

I voted February originally and I'm sticking to that. It could also be March, it's about a 50/50 chance. We're already partway through January so it's definitely not happening this month.

Nintendo promised it will be announced before the end of March. Probably won't be much of an announcement tbh. Just a general Fall/Winter 2025 release date and no mention of games (beyond maybe a "franchises X and Y will be released in the launch window") is what I'm expecting. They always release new consoles before Christmas, and Christmas 2026 seems too far away for an announcement this soon. So it's probably going to be 2025.

The first proper reveal (with gameplay footage) will probably be this summer. They usually do a big direct in June. And it will probably be new Mario Kart, new Mario (2D or 3D), Metroid 4, new Pokemon, and no Zelda (because it's way too soon)
At least one of those will just be a teaser trailer that doesn't really reveal anything except "it looks nice". And they'll do what they usually do and pick one of them to go in depth about, probably either Metroid (if it's near completion) or Pokemon (we all know Game Freak must have been working on something since they missed their yearly release) but I'm leaning more towards the latter because it's a much more popular series.

Welcome to the modern game industry in general. Games take years to develop so we get tons of filler in the middle. And most people are happy with that.
