Is there a restoratin patch for Xenoblade 2.

How? Ask people who made those mods.

How is it that everytime someone takes out "disrespectful" card towards me without even being attacked personally, this person has always USA listed in profile? I understand difference in culture, but somehow other cultures are not so sensitive when someone doesn't want to pamper them.

I would argue you writing "amk" is more disrespectful.

Due to the OP having Turk in their name I'm gonna guess they are Turkish and in Turkish amk is the same as omg in English. Don't see how saying oh my god is disrespectful but perhaps I'm missing something lol.

Thus the OP just seems frustrated at the fact there isn't a patch to achieve what they want.

And yes I get that there is also another meaning for amk but in this case they really do mean omg.

First Google result equates amk to "f*ck you" in Turkish. I hadn't seen it before. I bet masagrator hadn't either and did the same thing I did. That's where the confusion lies.

Anyway, everyone here is right OP. You either use what exists, or make it yourself.

The weird thing about Google is it gives results in different orders for different people somehow. Here is my first result.

Actually "oh my god" breaks second commandment of the Decalogue, so yes - for some people it's disrespectful. :)

In case of amk it's about what is the literal translation of this. I don't think there is anything in English equal in vulgarity that migrated into informal language as abbreviation and started being used out of context so it's not considered vulgar anymore.

Swearing losing its impact and being absorbed into general language isn't that uncommon:

lots of blasphemy like 'jeez'/'geez', OMG, 'for Go[o]d[ness]'s sake', 'cor bimey' ('God blind me'), damn.

sex things e.g. naff, SNAFU and generally anything where saying the F word completely would be more obviously rude than the initialism.

But i want everything restored amk.

'Everything' is a pretty broad request. You could get the original Japanese version? Or change to Japanese voices? It really depends on what localisation changes you object to. You could apply all the mods mentioned in the Varis Hangout thread.

I just want english subtitles to be correct.

The challenge with Xenoblade is that all these games are notoriously difficult to work with when it comes to text files. It's extremely easy to break something, not to mention the complications of repacking the files. There aren't any tools available for this at all.

I've considered retranslating it from scratch with friends, but there are three main obstacles:
  1. English is my second language
  2. My knowledge of hex editing and unpacking proprietary compression/archive formats is insufficient
  3. The game is simply too massive for my current free time

Does this game desperately need a complete retranslation? Absolutely. It has one of the worst localizations I've ever encountered. Will it ever get retranslated? Well, anything's possible. After all, Chrono Trigger received a wonderful retranslation many, many years after its original release - almost two decades later. I'd definitely be willing to help with such a project. This game truly deserves it.

To mod your game, you have to dump your game's ROMFS (there is homebrew that can do that), do the necessary modifications to it, and then place your edited ROMFS into the correct place on your SD card (forgot the exact path to put them in but it shouldn't be hard to find).

However I don't have a single clue as to how in the hell do you modify the files in the ROMFS, you're probably going to need a lot of knowledge about whatever proprietary file formats the game uses and I heard that the process can also vary a lot.
