They literally just admitted it's going to be New 3DS again.

This means a lack of themes, folders that are almost useless, a bland and boring HOME menu, and a laggy eShop for another 7 years - just with slightly better hardware and some new button inputs.
The 3DS had themes though and the home menu was anything but bland. So it's actually worse.

The exact same e-shop would run miles better on next generation hardware I assure you.

Trouble is they'll likely introduce a horribly bloated new e-shop replacement.

A few problems here

Damn near nothing has been said or confirmed about this console? So how can you be disappointed?

Secondly you’re comparing it to a “new 3ds” and than making comparisons that aren’t even true about the “new 3ds”

The new 3ds has full theme support, and good folders.

So if you’re going to make a comparison to make yourself upset at least make a truthful comparison lmao

Because you're going to be able to put Switch cartridges inside the new console ?
You're just exaggerating, for months you've made threads saying that you wish it's not just « an update »

Trust me, I too wish for a more substantial successor, but this is like saying that the 3DS is « just an update because it could use NDS cartridges, we're not going to get themes because the DSi never got them !! »

That really doesn't mean anything.

But if we want to get scared ... Personally, I hate the leaks that we had a while ago because there is still not analog triggers in those joycons. So probably no analog triggers for a new Pro Controller either, so for those who care ... might make Gamecube emulation harder for no reason.

What's the reason behind not having analog triggers in 2025 seriously ? I don't think that they must be a ton more expensive, do they ?

Didn't even see that you said that the 3DS had a bland menu and no themes .... ? Literally had themes and music and different SFX, we had folders and could even put badges on the menu too, it was pretty neat. The 3DS was the last console that had some of that « personality » some of us are craving for so I really don't understand the criticism being made here.

I think the real issue with analog triggers isn’t cost but the amount of people that actually use them

Sony included analog triggers for years until recently because almost no devs used the analog function. So why spend dev time implementing something a very small amount of users will even use or notice

What ? Everyone is using analog triggers but Nintendo. There's no way it's useless. And even if your game has no use for analog it's not like you couldn't use to have the same use as buttons.
That would also be much less gimmicky than their « HD rumble » that barely does anything outside 1-2 Switch and Mario Party. If it really was about « no devs using the function » then they wouldn't have implemented an IR sensor that's absolutely useless

Who is this everyone is that uses analog triggers ? Are they in the room with us?

PS5 doesn’t use analog triggers and Xbox one doesn’t either

The N3DS comparison was "the same HOME menu to its predecessor", not "as bland as the Switch's" - sorry for not making that more clear.

They didn't even announce the features yet. Where are you getting that from?

I'd love to see a Switch successor come out that will better improve performance.

The source is that he made it the fuck up. There is no official source confirming anything more than backward compability software wise.

From Polygon that made a summary article of all confirmed stuff and tried to puzzle it together what it might be.
For example the Switch "2" is most likely a hybrid again.
