Even before an announcement Kamala and Trump were neck and neck

If she can make a good case for herself, perhaps she could really gain some votes

You don't trust opinion polls on favorability? That's literally the only possible way to assess it

No election ballot has ever asked, do you like x

You are now being silly

Look I greatly dislike Hillary and Trump, and I would vote for Hillary between the two of them

That does NOT mean I like her

Grow up

No, and I've already explained one reason why. "Literally" doesn't mean what you think it does.

Straw Man

You are now being silly

And???

Again, and? I never made any statements that questioned that or made any implication that you felt otherwise.

Take your own advice. You're the one that childishly felt the need to add "grow up" at the end of your reply.

Her favorability is low, and it was back then too

You asked for proof, I showed you proof

If you don't want to accept the proof that's on you

You didn't provide proof. You provided an "opinion poll" as you, yourself called it. If you don't want to accept that opinion polls can be wrong, and have been many times in the past, that's on you.

Sorry, but polls are all we have to go on currently. Yes, they're not perfectly accurate, but they're not nothing.

You're not saying facts over feelings here. You're basically saying "my feelings" over somewhat factual feelings of many others.

Interesting fact, Trump himself donated to Kamala Harris twice as a private citizen, $5000 to her in 2011 and $1000 to her in 2013:

He donated to Democrats a lot prior to his venture into politics. Including the Clintons. They were even friends of his and invited to his 2005 wedding with Melania.

To be honest, a lot of really wealthy assholes donate to both political parties, in spite of whatever they may claim they support in public. It basically gives them a foot in the doorway into politics.

It isn't really going to affect anything either. It was already something Clinton tried to use on him in 2016, to no effect. He basically just framed it as "yeah I've donated to a lot of people who I disagree with because it helps me influence their politics" or whatnot. No one really ended up caring.

The CEO of the Disney company Bob Iger (despite framing himself as a liberal) was also previously a GOP donor. And the company under his influence still donates a lot of cash to Republican politicians. In Florida, these donations were far in excess of what they gave to Democrats.

There was a big feud with Bob Iger and the governor of FL over the past couple of years due to donations having been temporarily pulled as a result of the governor's rhetoric and laws against LGBTQ+ people. However, this has now been "resolved" and I believe donations have resumed).

It's telling that he chose to run as a Republican instead. Of course, he's basically called Republican voters idiots straight to their faces, and they cheer him for it.

I wish more people cared about money trails, particularly who their candidate is donating to. Unfortunately, almost no one outside of people far on the left side of the political aisle care. That's my point, this is not the sort of thing that will affect anything.

Liberals who were always going to vote blue no matter who will chuckle in agreement with how sleazy and hypocritical it is, people who already support Trump will ignore it just as they did back in 2016. And it's not the sort of thing that anyone on the fence will take into consideration either.

he already backed out apparently
Of course he did. He wouldn't go up against any of the other Republicans younger than himself, and mainly went along with the latest debate with Biden because it was old man vs old man with no fact checking. Now it's once again against a younger person, but also a woman, black, and served as a prosecutor. He'd probably just keep repeating "fake news" with everything she'd throw at him, not having enough time to do any mindless ranting.
