One bit of information from a preservation standpoint.... NVME SSDs or SSDs are that they sort of operate like rechargeable batteries. If you have one of those drives make sure to turn it on and use it every 6 months or so. This is not a problem with a regular hard drive although they can also go bad just in a different way and usually you can take an old spinning hard drive leave it on a shelf for a couple of years and it will be fine. I say usually because they do go bad it's just random. (always back up your data!!!) with the SSD thing it's a 100% sure thing if you don't give them some juice from time to time your data will be gone. The drive will be fine just your data may be gone or corrupt. This is also true with SD card MicroSD and the like, flash memory. So periodically plug them in and charge them up
