Quick Q for @zaksabeast:
Would a patch like this be applicable to the “DS Download Play” app on the 3DS?

Reason being, if that app could be redirected to a Gen 4 Pokemon save file, it would allow those without a physical cartridge to wirelessly transfer their Pokemon to a 5th Gen game being played on an alternate 3/DS.

While I’m familiar with the abundance of alternative solutions, I’d be real chuffed to go through the whole transfer process the way it was originally done.

No matter the answer, I hope i can at least let you know that I am immensely grateful to you for the PokéTransporter patch, and I’m just throwing this out there as a curiosity. Thanks so much for your awesome gift to the community!

I've wondered if something like this was possible, mainly with TWiLight Menu++ and nds-bootstrap. I've been meaning to bring the idea up to @RocketRobz, but I haven't had the chance.
My idea was, the program could receive the Download Play ROM, sort of like an "alternative homebrew version" of DS Download Play, and use the save data of a selected game instead of the game in the cartridge slot. Not sure if it's feasible though.

Redirecting the cart save to a save on the SD card was attempted, but was unable to get the patched application (of which DLP has received from the other console) to boot.

Thank you so much OP!!! This worked a treat! :) Now just get infrared working using the 3ds's (since the cart lacks it lol)

Do you think a similar thing would be possible for ds download play? For transferring pokemon from gen 4 to gen 5 using the intended method
edit: I hadn't finished reading the thread, i see now it already got asked several times. looks like melonDS might work.

Hi, I've been seeing this for a few days and I was wondering (because I honestly think I'm a bit dumb xd) how does it work in Citra, do I have to change the save path? or something else?

Update: I make it work XD i see some images over here and understand my mistakes hahhahha,

PD: Great Job :D

is there a way to do multiple ips codes in the title folder because it won’t let me rename multiple to codes.ips besides that it works for me

No, neither files nor ips patches work that way. Why would you think you need to do that!?

Bc I didn’t want to take out my sd card every time I want a pokemon from a certain game but thank you for letting me know.

What does that have to do with multiple files named code.ips?
Sorry for the confusion but I’m saying I have to take out my sd card delete the code.ips put in and rename a different code for a different game

Different games will have a code.ips in a completely different folder!

Also, you can manipulate files with the Godmode9 file manager or over wifi using ftpd.

I don't know why but renaming Pokemon White 2.nds to white2.nds it gives me a white screen on both screens launching on Twilight Menu++. It was working before with other pokemon white 2 (EUR), if i rename the game to another name it launches perfectly.
I know this is a years old comment but dude you saved me so much more time . Time I already wasted trying to get a ftp client on my phone to send the files over for this patch because I don't have a computer and just a bunch of crap and it was that easy!

Make sure game patching is enabled in Luma settings.
Hey mate you seem to know what you are talking about. Do you know if this still works in 2024 and if so could you help me. I did everything you all wrote here but it still isnt wortking for me and both Dream Radar and Transporter say that there is noc game to be found

What exactly have you done so far?

I have been trying to do the same thing in citra but I don't know what to do or where to start. Do you think can you explain please?

Just the normal Homebrew method and got me all the Pokemon Games for the normal and 3DS. Tried all the methods to get PokeTransporter going, but nothing worked.

Could you maybe give me a describtion of what do in your own words. For example i didnt really know if i need to name a folder code.ips oder just copy the code.ips in the other folder. I later realized what to do. After that i didnt knwo if i should rename the code.ips after the exact name my save file has oder just let it stay at code.ips. And if its ok where my safe files are now on the SD card. Maybe you can tell me somthing about that, because i tried all combinations.

Or if you think you can help me better we could go in a quick Discord Chat, so i can show you what you need.
My DC-name is Nilso31 just like the name here.

Did you enable game patching in the Luma config menu?
If so, and you did exactly as what the steps have stated, then idk what else to do.
