I added an experimental feature: interlaced mode.

When enabled, it draws the psx graphics interlaced in 480i mode just like a real psx, which means the emulator only has to draw half the pixels. This allows 480i games to run full speed (aside from some recompilation hitches) when interlaced mode is enabled.
This works very well for a CRT which will display the image interlaced anyway. But for a HDTV it might add interlacing artifacts.

Also added a fix for Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and a setting for deflicker filter.

then make an improvement to Resident Evil Survivor, Jade Cocoon, Final Fantasy VIII, Dino Crisis and Koudelka, these suffer from video and audio playback errors (apart from Final Fantasy VIII, the others also have loss of performance)

Thank you, Jokippo, what was the glitch in Oddworld about?

Stop with the demanding tone, the only thing you're going to get is tire the few people that actually work on things you benefit from and abandon it. If they were so easy to fix they've be done already.

This new interlacing update is a HUGE speed boost, Tekken 3 and 3D Fighter Maker (Europe) are now full speed!!! Bloody Roar 2 isn't but it reaches around 50 to 55 which is a massive gain over the 30 it was getting prior to this. It's also the most demanding PSX game I can think of so this is an incredible update! There are interlacing artifacts indeed on a HDTV but honestly having full speed is still better than not. I'm still testing other games to see if there's any slow games left but honestly most of them already ran full speed anyways, what amazing progress!

EDIT: Goiken Moyou II also runs full speed too, another demanding PSX fighter made by ex-virtua fighter devs. I think bloody roar 2 remains the last game to not run without frameskipping. For those of you who have CRTs or a de-interlacing device like an OSSC you should leave it on all the time it's literally just free FPS at that point since it's not just for 480i games, every game gets an improvement in speed.

EDIT 2: it seems you can also use the increased speed gained from the interlacing to enable dithering and still keep a good speed, games like metal gear solid run great now with full dithering enabled. Some games really do look better when you can keep the dithering on.

Black pixels in FMVs were set as transparent which caused a lot of graphical glitches.

Interlacing is only enabled when the games tv mode is set to 480i, so it won't speed up 240p only games. But mixed games while in 480i menus may benefit.

I also forgot to mention that I optimized the sprite drawing function that Chrono Cross uses in the 480i menus, so those should run full speed now even when interlaced mode is disabled.

It seems a lot of later fighting games used this TV mode and all of them get a huge boost from it. It's still incredible to see the PSX play almost the entire playstation library at full speed!

A question though, is fast loading universal for all games or is it still just for parasite eve and lego island 2?

Wow thank you! what another nice feature allowing interlaced pretty much fixed Jet Moto 1. I also noticed Quake 2 runs very well without the glitchy wall effect. And I noted that Diablo 1 is now actually playable, although I had to turn off frame skipping and it seems to run a bit slow every few seconds but it's completely tolerable and playable. I wish someone as motivated as you was working on the dosbox port which is basically dead in the water LOL but anyway big thanks! so fun to play all these old ps1 games! cheers!

@Jokippo Thank you so much for adding Interlaced mode and other features/fixes!

Remaining issues I still have are as follows:

return fire - runs great, no music
diehard trilogy - d1-d2 run great, dh3 has slowdown during explosions
rayman - runs great, fmv's are too far to the right, cut off
Twisted Metal 3 - crashes after first loading screen (I heard this game used to work?)

Thanks again for all the great work!

hello. It's been three versions of wiistation since the x2 already worked well, at least when playing on crt tv, as well as Love and Destroy and ghost in the shell. What I noticed is that on the x2 the screen was scrolled to the left when I was playing (For example, in the Salamander Deluxe Pack Plus this displacement to the left of the screen is even more pronounced... could it be corrected?), is that what you mean? Or is it the big graphic glitch making it unplayable that these three games had before? all the best

All the three previous versions of WiiStation i tried had the nasty graphical glitch that the game is too streched out on all the lines (corrupted lines) on everything except the FMVs, making it unplayable.
But now thanks to Interlaced mode, the game finally is playable on WiiStation without that nasty glitch.
