This emulator has improved a lot, most of the games are perfect or almost perfect. Of the games that still have problems I mention the following:

- koudelka stops in the first video, before or after the image is blocked although in the background you can still hear the sound of the video but the game does not respond to the controls. If you press start at the beginning of the video to skip it, there is no problem, the game works fine, but the videos freeze sooner or later.

- Fear Effect 1 and 2. Something similar to the previous case, if you don't skip the videos of the game you will see that after a while the image freezes and doesn't respond to the controls, although the sound of the video is still heard in the background. The games, if you skip the videos, work fine.

- Jade Cocoon. The game works fine but if you try to save or load it from the game itself it will pretend to read and then tell you that it has not been possible to save or load the game.

These errors have been dragging all PSX emulators on Wii, it is not only a question of the current version whether I use PAL or NTSC version. If someone could check it I would appreciate it, to know if it is only a problem exclusively mine or not.

I forgot, Saga Frontier 2 no longer has any image problems and is perfectly playable. The Oddworld Abe games are still dragging on pixels. And the final boss of Disney Hercules, Hades, before you had to play it under interpreter, with the latest fixes it goes great without errors. The same for Space Hulk, which used to give problems with the map in the pause menu and now it looks like it should.

PS: try Alien Resurrection with wiimote and nunchuk, activating analog and setting IR to right analog in the settings, you're in for a surprise. IR aiming has improved a lot with these latest versions.

Hi. Can someone fix Astro Trooper Vanark ? Console restart at the beginning of the game, after the "start training" screen. Thanks.

Rogue Trip and Power Move Pro Wrestling are both working.

Twisted Metal 3 and Medieval 2 are still in the non-working list. I'm not sure either ever worked before though.

Edit: Is there any way to speed up the "Load ISO" search? More to the point, why is it taking so long? Is this a sign of improperly coded CUE files?
can confirm twisted metal 3 does not work. just goes to a black screen. works fine in wiisx 3.0 and wiisxrx 4.0.

Question about the 240p mode:

First of all it’s awesome, but I’m wondering what its ideal purpose is. Is it best for certain games, like 2D games? Or is it best on CRTs so you can get scanlines? I usually play my Wii on regular flatscreens and I only see a slight, almost imaginary difference when I turn it on.

I also noticed I can get like two more FPS when I turn it on, but most games I play stay consistently above 60 so that rarely matters.

it's strictly only for CRTs, LCDs get no benefit from 240p and most of them don't support it as a resolution or will just line double it to 480p

That is unless you have a line doubler like the OSSC (which will multiply the resolution to something newer TVs can display, and add scanlines and such to it).

My LCD could display 240P, but it was stretched and plain horrible : I never got the reason why people were asking for the feature until I got an OSSC.

But now it's night and day, and a feature I'm very thankful to see in this emulator.

Wow simply amazing! Thanks to everyone contributing to this. I've had my wii for many years. I hard modded it at one point and it really paid off when it tried to update once I was able to re-mod it. The Playstation emulator has come so far and gone from almost completely useless to very close to fully functional. This is the first version where it looks like its handling the graphics properly. The original Tony Hawk games work great! So cool! The only ones I have found that really just don't work are the Jet Moto games. That would be a cool fix. I am super stoked though, even Resident Evil 3 is working and all the racing games so far. I never thought I'd see the day this would work! Thanks for your hard efforts!

WiiStation is great.
jet moto worked in some older version, it seems to me that we will have some kind of emulation problem in certain games. updating the emulator fixes some and others end up causing problems, but in general the emulator is working basically 90% of the library.

thanks for the heads up. for info purposes, would you happen to have a version # that worked with jet moto? i tend to use the latest wiistation, but could switch for the few problematic games

Without checking, I think WiiSXRX 3.3 is the most likely to work when it comes to newer versions breaking compatibility. It was the best emulator before LightRec happened — now all the emulators use LightRec (WiiSXRX 4.0 and WiiStation mainly; although apparently the original WiiSX has been recompiled with LightRec after being in hiatus for years).

I understand, for instance, that WiiSXRX 3.3 works for Rayman where other emulators do not.

There's still road to cover, i argue its more around 70% of the library that can run with no issues at full speed, but i am not trying to downplay the progress of this app which has become one of most run emulator on the wii next to mGBA.

Hmmm, I'll have to try that one. In the past none of the emulators could do it whether it was wiisx, siisxr, wiisxrx. As soon as you get the green light in jet moto 1 (my preferred favorite) the screen would just go totally bonkers. In the current 2.4 version the game actually crashes when loading the level.

I went ahead and checked it out. It appears at least so far I have issues with jet moto 1 and 2 on both of the 1.0 or 2.4 versions, however jet moto 3 does work. on 1.0 you have to turn off limit fps and 2.4 you need it on. The 2.4 running it seems way smoother and is a huge improvement. So it's really the first two games, I'll have fun with 3 for a while but the first one I was able to land insane tricks that you weren't supposed to really be able to and I think that's why im fond of it. It appears to have something to do with the rendering of the ocean almost but hard to say. Jet moto 2 was completely fine until I hit ocean. Jet moto 1 breaks almost immediately after you take off.

I added an experimental feature: interlaced mode.

When enabled, it draws the psx graphics interlaced in 480i mode just like a real psx, which means the emulator only has to draw half the pixels. This allows 480i games to run full speed (aside from some recompilation hitches) when interlaced mode is enabled.
This works very well for a CRT which will display the image interlaced anyway. But for a HDTV it might add interlacing artifacts.

Also added a fix for Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and a setting for deflicker filter.

Thank you, Jokippo, what was the glitch in Oddworld about?

then make an improvement to Resident Evil Survivor, Jade Cocoon, Final Fantasy VIII, Dino Crisis and Koudelka, these suffer from video and audio playback errors (apart from Final Fantasy VIII, the others also have loss of performance)

Stop with the demanding tone, the only thing you're going to get is tire the few people that actually work on things you benefit from and abandon it. If they were so easy to fix they've be done already.

This new interlacing update is a HUGE speed boost, Tekken 3 and 3D Fighter Maker (Europe) are now full speed!!! Bloody Roar 2 isn't but it reaches around 50 to 55 which is a massive gain over the 30 it was getting prior to this. It's also the most demanding PSX game I can think of so this is an incredible update! There are interlacing artifacts indeed on a HDTV but honestly having full speed is still better than not. I'm still testing other games to see if there's any slow games left but honestly most of them already ran full speed anyways, what amazing progress!

EDIT: Goiken Moyou II also runs full speed too, another demanding PSX fighter made by ex-virtua fighter devs. I think bloody roar 2 remains the last game to not run without frameskipping. For those of you who have CRTs or a de-interlacing device like an OSSC you should leave it on all the time it's literally just free FPS at that point since it's not just for 480i games, every game gets an improvement in speed.

EDIT 2: it seems you can also use the increased speed gained from the interlacing to enable dithering and still keep a good speed, games like metal gear solid run great now with full dithering enabled. Some games really do look better when you can keep the dithering on.
