So if I turn on my Wii U Pro controller it recognizes it and I can use it in the menus….

But then it’s stuck as player two and I can’t use it in the game.

If I try and turn off the WiiMote it turns off the whole console though

I am taking the opportunity to do a semi off topic question regarding VBA-GX, putting aside that mGBA exists and can do GBA nearl flawlessly on Wii, but ironically has issues with GB/GBC, specially if you wanna scale to proper 4:3 pillarboxed SGB style, (it only allows you to do Pixel perfect 1:1) but also fucks up sometimes givin you a black screen, and the Wii version cant activate SGB features of even SGB borders, let alone for borders for GBA, but the whole point is.

Why is that gba emulation on VBAgx is still so fucking bad, games cannot run without stutter without frameskippin? or games running with issues even to this date, when even VBA-M standalone on PC aint that bad?

VBA-GX has outdated GBA emulation that hasn't updated.
Also, it isn't well optimized for Wii, unlike mGBA or even gpSP.

But by the way, i tried latest VBA-M (in a custom compiled RA Wii 1.7.6 core) on Wii but the GBA speed is so bad, sadly. I think upstream VBA-M focuses more on more compatible emulation instead of speed...
