Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

Done this and same outcome, added resistor to pin 15 also (because somewhere in this thread I saw this could be needed if bad results, and I’m getting the same result.

hopefully the wire thing works fine for me, i see others have trouble with it

your mosfet is not connected correctly...check the mosfet pinout on my picture. Another thing i have no sucess with wire and the left apu cap connected with just one mosfet i have to solder mosfet directly to left apu cap without wire. If i dont do that and put wire no mather the size and lenght i have green.. purple and goes to ofw like you..

Can you show me what you did please?

Looks like you soldered gate to the cap and source to CPU going by your phone screenshot with the red lines drawn over it

Hmm alright.... that looks correct. Other people have been having trouble running wires over and having issues so IDK if maybe the wires aren't thick enough for what it needs or maybe something else is at play.

Soldering is soldering, there is no method that doesn't require soldering for modchip, if that is what you are asking.

Hmm alright.... that looks correct. Other people have been having trouble running wires over and having issues so IDK if maybe the wires aren't thick enough for what it needs or maybe something else is at play.

Wire thickness was my thinking but I always use the enamelled jumper wire for trinket install with no issues.

I would go for thicker especially ground and 3v AWG 36

I was gonna do the same and harvest parts from 'old' boards (mainly consoles). Got any leads on where to get the MOSFETs or how best to track them down on a random motherboard?

Soldering is soldering, there is no method that doesn't require soldering for modchip, if that is what you are asking.

Would it be possible to put some pcb between emmc and motherboard on switch v2 to avoid difficult soldering?

I like the idea but my guess is that it would make the MB too thick.

I just got the mosfets from digikey, theyre about $.50 a piece
Ordered resistors too but they ended up being 47K and not 47ohm which is what prompted me to salvage them. Other than looking at what boards you have or checking schematics if available, I think it might just be easier to order them. Especially since the ones that are recommended are specific models and not just any old mosfet.

Can we please drop attitudes like this? The developer(s) contribute to this project by their own will, in their own free time. They don't owe anyone anything. There is no release schedule because spare time hobby projects don't require such things, and imo it would suck the joy out of such projects, just like people that keep asking "when" do. If you want a bug free chip today, go buy a hwfly. If you want a faster release, go learn to code and contribute yourself. If that seems "too hard", then the best you can do is to say thanks to the devs and wait - silently.

Update: new FW 2.64+ solved rp2040-one compatibility. NOW WORKS!

THE same type rp2040-one I had didnt work on me, It might due to the 4MB on-board NAND instead of zero's 2MB. It flashes green instantly and boots to HOS.
Hope Im the only one, wish you luck

Guys I need some help !!!

I tried to solder the mosfet but it keeps burning. I‘ve burnt 4 mosfet already.
But my switch lite is totally OK and working normally after I removed RP2040.
What could be the reason ? Has this happen to anyone else ?
