Hi again guys. I am a little nervous about going through update process: Updating Hekate and Atmosphere, followed by Sigpatches and finally updating System FW through Daybreak. Am nervous because I haven't done this in a bit, and don't want to mess anything up. Thoughts and help appreciated :)

Thanks so much for the guide! I read through it a bit, but am concerned about this step for Upgrading FW: Before you upgrade your devices firmware, please ensure to delete your /contents/ folder located in /atmosphere/. Is that step still necessary? I do have that folder/directory in my current atmosphere, have not updated folders on mSD yet, but do have everything ready to copy over. Help appreciated :)

I think this step is required for Custom Theme User (maybe more but I don't know) because when you forget to change back your EmuNAND theme to basic theme, whenever you boot Atmosphere, the device will be stuck in Panic mode until you delete Theme folder in /contents/ folder. This is my experience: always switch back to basic them and then do the update, just need to drag-n-drop from latest Atmosphere release (I haven't delete that folder since I use my Switch V1)

Thanks! I'll post again tomorrow if I have any doubts after this guide then :D
I have read and found a tutorial on how to install and use tinwoo, I do still have to understand how I check or know if I have certain sigpatches. Are they in the sd card? Or I can check them from Hekate? Also, since I have installed the sdsetup base kit, do I have the base sigpatches, and only need to install tinwoo, or I have to implement tinfoil and awoo files? Sorry the question may sound dumb but sigpatches are really a the only thing I'm struggling to understand

I do have another doubt. Followed the switch homebrew guide but didnt set up the 90DNS. Read the article on the easy switch hack guide. I do have a problem understanding what wether I have or not to copy and paste both codes for nand and emu in the same .ini file

Other than that I'd like to know if after all of this, if I even manage to understand how to install a theme or icon only on emuNAND, can I safely use sysNAND on internet and play games normally? As if I had 2 switches in one... I'm sorry if my questions sound dumb but I'm really a noob and I have 0 knowledge on softwares coding and such

Hi guys. I am in process of updating content on my Switch mSD card, at part where I update sigpatches. Do I need to replace my current hekate_ipl file? There is an hekate_ipl file in the bootloader directory of sigpatches download file. In the included hekate_ipl file that is in sigpatches download, I am concerned about this line: autonogc=1. In my ipl file, it is set to 0. Here is the name of the Sigpatch file I downloaded: Hekate+AMS-package3-sigpatches-1.4.0-cfw-15.0.0
Here is what my current hekate_ipl file looks like:

[config]
autoboot=0
autoboot_list=0
bootwait=1
verification=1
backlight=100
autohosoff=0
autonogc=0

{AtlasNX/Kosmos v14.1}

{Github: git.teamatlasnx.com}
{Patreon: patreon.teamatlasnx.com}
{Pegascape DNS: pegascape.sdsetup.com}

fss0=atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin
kip1patch=nosigchk
atmosphere=1
logopath=bootloader/bootlogo.bmp

fss0=atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin

Help appreciated :)

Well, allow me to clarify a few things. There are no such things as "sigpatches". Those are just a made up word used for noobs. In reality, there are ES, FS, & Loader patches. ES patches are required to install legitimate .NSP files while FS/Loader patches are used to launch .XCI file converts and homebrew .NSP files. Unfortunately, SDSetup does not include these patches so you must download them from this thread.

90DNS is absolutely not necessary. Its only needed if you plan to use Internet-based services with your console but are afraid of getting banned.

Lastly, whatever you do in emuMMC does not affect sysMMC. You have the correct idea; having emuMMC is like having a second Switch but on your SD card.

You don't need to. Its included for those who don't have one and/or messed up theirs. Personally, I always end up overwriting it then realize later that autonogc is active but since I know how to disable it, its not an issue. AutoNOGC is used to prevent the cartridge slot from being updated. The reason for this is because it may be used for a future exploit but require a specific firmware so some people choose to hold off on updating it. AutoNOGC prevents it from being updated by disabling the cartridge slot entirely. If this doesn't appeal to you, you can simply keep your autonogc=0 or overwrite your hekate_ipl.ini file then change the value to 0.

Thanks for the help and info! Does my Hekate ini file look correct? In the new Atmosphere files, I noticed something like payload3 or something? My Hekate ini file has no mention of that, but the one included in the sigpatches download does. How should I proceed? Help appreciated [emoji846]

Hi I just bought an already hacked switch.

It has a 256gb card in it with loads of games, quite a few are corrupted and it's been formatted exFAT.

Ideally I want to start from scratch with the whole thing but have no idea of it's previous history so far.

It is currently on v13.1.0

It has an atmosphere payload injector

Never owned a switch before so am unfamiliar with whats what.

Plenty of modding experience going right back to chipping playstation 1's.

I have looked at the fresh modding guides and they all seem to indicate needing a pre existing piece of software on the console to use to launch a part of the hack or a game cartridge.
I don't have a game cartridge yet, I have ordered a cheap game which has a release date of 2018.

I don't know if it's banned or not so I don't know if I will be able to do a hard reset of the whole thing and then be able to buy a game to use.

What should I do with it? I have another 64gb unused memory card here and am ready to do whatever is necessary.

I don't mind if I am banned from online use but it would be good to know if I am or not.

Whats my best course of action here?

Thanks

Danny

You can read https://rentry.co/SwitchHackingIsEasy if you want basic explanation of switch CFW, anyway you should copy your data off to a computer or an external HDD then format the SD card to FAT32, then copy the data back if there is no Hidden Emunand involve.

Shoot, that completely slipped my mind. Atmosphere changed the name of fusee-secondary.bin to package3 so that will have to be reflected in your hekate_ipl.ini file. So you have 2 choices: either use the new hekate_ipl.ini file included in the patches or update all instances of fusee-secondary.bin to package3.

Considering its exFAT and everything is corrupted, formatting it to FAT32 is the first step you should do. After that, I highly recommend following this guide on how to hack your console from start to finish. Also, I know why those guides say you need some title on the console to launch but in reality, you don't and you can even install one after the hacking process is done so don't worry about it.

So before I format the sdcard and start from scratch do I need to perform a hard reset on the console and if so how is that acheived.
I would ideally like to begin with it fresh.

Danny.

You don't need to but there is no harm in performing a factory reset if you're going to be hacking the console so any progress you can easily re-acquire after the process. Follow this page on how it is done.

Thanks again for the help! I plan to just use the hekate file included with the patches. For autonogc in that file, is it as easy as just replacing "1" with a "0"? Further thoughts and help appreciated :)

I had a look in the payloads section of tinfoil on the console and it has 3 entries.
Atmosphere (sysnand) ----- worst cfw
Hekate ----- really bad bootloader
Lockpick

is it advisable to do the system wipe to get rid of the sysnand hack before i start from scratch on a fresh sdcard?

Considering that is what the inside of the payloads section looks like, I'd say its more than warranted.

you don need it, but is always as simple as a factory reset.

And please leave beefs out of here, 99.999999999999999999% of the scene love Atmosphére, 0.0000000000000000005 want to use SOX for direct XCI load, and some people do not like Atmosphère but do not provide an alternative nor give a constructive feedback about what it do not like.

Hi. Few months ago I bought a Pro Controller that seemed to be the official one after checking some YouTube videos. Today I've been trying to update it but I get stuck at the begging and when I try to update it wired, I get the message "Unable to update". Is that a fake controller that looks like the official one and I got scammed? Thanks in advance.
