Why are Americans so freaking sensitive

*Disclaimer* if you get offended by anything I say, that is not my attention however, you'll be proving my point.

I've been thinking lately (a dangerous pastime I know) but I've noticed that Americans are extremely sensitive. What ever happened to "suck it up" or "get over yourself"? For example I have said that I do not agree with homosexuality but I still am friends with and love homosexual people despite me not agreeing with this lifestyle, of course I was still called homophobic and got a lot of hate by some pansies who couldn't respect other people's thoughts. Another example is the is viewpoints on celebrities and the like. I've noticed people being unnecessarily bashed for not liking a generally liked person or vice versa. The most extreme example is something I saw today. There was a video of a photographer being observed by a young elk. It showed mildly hostile behavior as it would bend it's head down and buck the man who was sitting on the ground. He stayed down so he wouldn't upset the elk and he got away unharmed. The elk was later put down for "repeated aggressive behavior". At least 80% of the comments said that the man had performed animal abuse because the elk was put down even though he did absolutely nothing to harm it. People went as far as to say that the man should have been put down. This begs the question. What causes us Americans to be so easily offended and hate others just because they differ in opinion? What do you guys think?

@skydancer93 You do know EVERY country is like this...EVERYone gets offended over something. So stop blaming Obama...because hell a lot of conservative d-list "celebrities" couldn't STOP getting offended over everything he did. So TRUST me it did not start with Obama.

G
@smile72 way to get offended because somebody doesn't like Obama

I blame the internet, before it no one cared about the small irrelevant people being offended.

By the way, all I have to say about White Privilege is this:

These fucking people think just because I’m white that I automatically have a trust fund, a multi million dollar mansion, and a hundred thousand dollar sports car.

I’ve never been “privileged” EVER in my fucking life.

We’ve always struggled. We can barely keep a roof over our heads some months after bills and taxes. If we didn’t have a tenant, we’d be out on the street. We budget as much as we can and we still have trouble sometimes. We live in a $300,000 house. We use a 1998 Chevy S-10 as our car. We haven’t updated the damn house since 1990 and that was just the upstairs. Downstairs hasn’t been updated since 1970(save for appliances obviously).

MEANWHILE, a black person can generally go to welfare and walk out with food stamps, a monthly check (or sometimes bi weekly), free healthcare, and free tuition. I even have seen them scheme at the supermarket on how to get MORE money from the government. Once I even seen a dude bitch because he ONLY got $1,000 a month in food and EBT. Fuck, that’s our mortgage for the month.

I keep telling my aunt who I stay and help out with that we need to move, but when it’s been our family home since 1953, it’s hard for her to want to leave.

So, the NEXT time I hear ANYONE try and talk to ME about “White Privilege”, that person is going to get their head caved in.

@smile72 i was making a joke but okie

I have never liked the bible for the obious reason that people use it to instigate hate and pin people againts each other, also I think that people should also keep in mind that the bible was originally written mostly in hebrew and by reading it in any other language, you're pretty much reading the interpretation of the translator since the meaning of stuff often gets changed when being translated. Also the words that one person translate it can be completely different from the words that someone else does. Also languages change like for example the word gay changing from happy to homosexual.

@skydancer93 I completely agree. Although Whites can get welfare too.

It's them playing the victim and the blame game.

@smile72 yes it did because he gave POWER to these morons and catered to them. That paved the way also for Donald Trump to get in and he’s making it worse by daring them to be worse....

@skydancer93 To be fair I grew up with the white privilege people. i grew up in one of the richest places in the united states and managed to be among the poorest in the areaLOL and then I went to college with the black people who told me I don't know anything about being discriminated against when I'm a gay person of Hispanic origin lololol I understood where they were coming from....but I never understood their point afterwards. AND to be fair that thing about black people easily getting on welfare TOTAL bullshit. How do I know? A black woman took me and my mom to apply for welfare once WE All got denied (except my mom. She got her food stamps) they even scammed me so good I got a $10,000 bill~! So yeah....that's another story.

@smile72 yes some places do have extra privilege but that isn't necessarily all white either. And besides that, do you think the entire nation has white privilege? They group us all together and place a label on us that they've only seen on a select few, which they don't like when it happens to them, and we don't like when it happens to us, so why do it?

G
Yeah I didn't help at all lmao. I pretty much caused off-topic. Eh. It's a good discussion right now so why drop it.

@skydancer93 nah there's a million reasons why Trump got in and they are mainly due to problems from the Republican Party and rural poverty. Thanks Southern Illinois you hellhole.

@blujay Um I never said that lol just where I grew up was a good example. Well they were almost all white yeah there were 2 black people at my high school.
