Why are Americans so freaking sensitive

*Disclaimer* if you get offended by anything I say, that is not my attention however, you'll be proving my point.

I've been thinking lately (a dangerous pastime I know) but I've noticed that Americans are extremely sensitive. What ever happened to "suck it up" or "get over yourself"? For example I have said that I do not agree with homosexuality but I still am friends with and love homosexual people despite me not agreeing with this lifestyle, of course I was still called homophobic and got a lot of hate by some pansies who couldn't respect other people's thoughts. Another example is the is viewpoints on celebrities and the like. I've noticed people being unnecessarily bashed for not liking a generally liked person or vice versa. The most extreme example is something I saw today. There was a video of a photographer being observed by a young elk. It showed mildly hostile behavior as it would bend it's head down and buck the man who was sitting on the ground. He stayed down so he wouldn't upset the elk and he got away unharmed. The elk was later put down for "repeated aggressive behavior". At least 80% of the comments said that the man had performed animal abuse because the elk was put down even though he did absolutely nothing to harm it. People went as far as to say that the man should have been put down. This begs the question. What causes us Americans to be so easily offended and hate others just because they differ in opinion? What do you guys think?

See, that's a red flag for me.
If that's a red flag you ought to read the whole story of its... delivery.

17:40 or so has a nice version of it but the whole thing (and the whole channel for that matter) is good stuff

@Yil They want to ruin men financially and reduce the population of males.

@TotalInsanity4 How about equal custody rights. And giving women a choice to be a homemaker if they want, instead of telling women they are half a person for being a homemaker. Women should have choices to go to work or be a homemaker, and feel equally important. They shouldn't feel less than a person for the choices they make. Feminists wants to destroy the institution of marriage as a whole.

This is a response to your not all feminism comment you made on @Stephano blog.
(this is one of the best arguments i've seen against feminism so I'm going to use it)

There are people say that feminism is not a man hate movement and not all feminism is an extremist movement.

This is non-sense. Thats like saying i'm a Christian but I don't believe in Christ, or saying i'm a Nazi but I don't hate Jews.
Or even saying I'm a KKK but I don't hate blacks, they don't understand what their own movement is about.

There are feminist that are not hateful but they still support a hate movement whether they know it or not.

You don't get to wave a Nazi flag and say, "well trust me i'm one of the good ones," you have to own your own movement and the hate it spreads.

And yes I can say all Feminism is like that because the core belief of feminsim is the anti-male Patriarchy theory, its what all feminist theory derives from. If you don't believe in the Patriarchy then you are not a feminist.

Feminism literature, discourse and advocacy from the 1900's to today mainly focuses on demonizing men and infantilizing women.

Even if some feminists occasionally raises some money for good causes or helps old people, it does not excuse their support for this giant ideology of hatred. It's still a hate movement at its core regardless of the occasional good.

To say "not all feminists are like that" people are just deluding themselves. That not all feminists are like that should be a given. But all feminism is like that, the hateful ideology that it is.

People bring up the dictionary definition of feminism, but movements are defined by the movements themselves and the actions of the movement, the definition is irrelevant.

If people don't think its a hate movement, these are quotes from the leaders of feminism, and not some insignificant radicles shrieking crazily.

I feel that 'man-hating' is an honorable and viable political act.” (Robin Morgan)

He can beat or kill the woman he claims to love; he can rape women...he can sexually molest his daughters... THE VAST MAJORITY OF MEN IN THE WORLD DO ONE OR MORE OF THE ABOVE." (Marilyn French)

The nuclear family must be destroyed... Whatever it’s ultimate meaning, the break-up of families now is an objectively revolutionary process. (Linda Gordon)

Since marriage constitutes slavery for women, it is clear that the women's movement must concentrate on attacking this institution. Freedom for women cannot be won without the abolition of marriage. (Sheila Cronin NOW)

Rape is nothing more or less than a conscious process of intimidation by which all men keep all women in a state of fear. (Susan Brownmiller)

All sex, even consensual sex between a married couple, is an act of violence perpetrated against a woman. (Catherine MacKinnon) There must be a decontamination of the Earth. I think this will be accompanied by an evolutionary process that will result in a drastic reduction of the population of males. (Mary Daly)

Men who are unjustly accused of rape can sometimes gain from the experience." - (Catherine Comins)

"The proportion of men must be reduced to and maintained at approximately 10% of the human race." (Sally Miller Gearhart) I think that testosterone is a rare poison. (Germaine Greer)

I believe that women have a capacity for understanding and compassion which man structurally does not have, does not have it because he cannot have it. He's just incapable of it. (Barbara Jordan)

Until now it has been thought that the level of testosterone in men is normal simply because they have it. But if you consider how abnormal their behavior is, then you are led to the hypothesis that almost all men are suffering from "testosterone poisoning." (The Feminist Dictionary Pandora Press)

Being a housewife is an illegitimate profession... The choice to serve and be protected and plan towards being a family- maker is a choice that shouldn't be. (Vivian Gornick)

We are, as a sex, infinitely superior to men. (Elizabeth Cady Stanton)

Women have very little idea of how much men hate them. (Germaine Greer)

MALE:...represents a variant of or deviation from the category of female. The first males were mutants...the male sex represents a degeneration and deformity of the female. (The Feminist Dictionary Pandora Press)

Men's sexuality is mean and violent. (Judith Levine)

MAN:...an obsolete life form... an ordinary creature who needs to be watched...a contradictory baby-man. (The Feminist Dictionary Pandora Press)

Marriage has existed for the benefit of men; and has been a legally sanctioned method of control over women.... We must work to destroy it. The end of the institution of marriage is a necessary condition for the liberation of women. Therefore it is important for us to encourage women to leave their husbands and not to live individually with men.... All of history must be re-written in terms of oppression of women. (The Declaration of Feminism)

I am likely to define my task as largely one of recruitment...of persuading students that women are oppressed. (Joyce Trebilcot)

To call a man an animal is to flatter him; he's a machine, a walking dildo." (Valerie Solanas.) Housewives are dependent creatures who are still children - parasites.(Gloria Steinem)

“Under patriarchy, every woman's son is her potential betrayer and also the inevitable rapist or exploiter of another woman." (Andrea Dworkin)

I have a great deal of difficulty with the idea of the ideal man. As far as I'm concerned, men are the product of a damaged gene. (Germaine Greer)

AIDS education will not get very far until young men are taught how not to rape young women. (Naomi Wolf)

To say that feminism is not a hate movement is non-sense. These are not just some trolls or people joking around. These are people that are serious leaders in the movement having influence over many people, and influenced political policy to create anti-male legislation. People that don't think its a hate movement needs to educated themselves about the movement and the damage it caused our society.

can a mod lock this blog post the discussions lack any sort of thought or purpose and are making me lose brain cells

also @SG854 I suggest you actually understand the context behind the ranges of source material you're quoting because just finding names of women who've said things without providing any indication as to what they're responding to really does make you look quite silly. From one man to another, yes men DO commit rape in greater percentages, no it's not because of some natural/biological reason nor would that in any way be some kind of justification, it is because of how society is shaped and the, dare I say, patriarchal forces at play that allow this to happen to systematically. Women criticising this has nothing to do with Nazi ideology. That comparison is total nonsense. I don't identify myself as a feminist necessarily but I appreciate what they have to say especially since they speak on behalf of people who experience the world an entirely different (and sadly, sometimes worse) way

it just blows my mind that people can take a movement that is about empowering/helping a separate group of people who statistically are disadvantaged by current societal norms and make it so that they're actually the victims through being called out. You don't have to agree with the movement, but this kind of response is incredibly inappropriate

@SG854 I don't think that you realize that misandry isn't equivalent feminism, first of all, but second of all I wouldn't want to be on the side that's effectively arguing that women should exist to fill the role of the housewife that exists solely to serve the family. Feminism is about having the choice to do what you want in life, be it a stay-at-home mom or a single female CEO, or anything in-between, including the breadwinner of the family. I don't know what kind of twisted view you're basing your concept of "feminism" on, but it certainly is not the view that the majority of feminists hold, and aligns much more closely with that of misandry. And, quite frankly, I'd appreciate it if you'd stop text-dumping on me, because it's hardly fair to assume I'm going to read the entire thing. Be a considerate human being and try to keep your argument concise, please

@sarkwalvein Fun fact: I actually am an actor, not professionally but it's my favorite hobby. I really didn't expect this to blow up *this* much though XD

@Catsinabucket I regret letting some of the comments hurt me and getting into arguments (that's why I've been lurking for the past day or so), the original post in of itself is fine.

And this is why I never voice my opinions on the internet, because other people will say:

- I'm wrong
- I'm not being PC enough
- I'm homophobic or some other bullshit accusation
- Anti-liberal

Either way, voicing your opinion will most assuredly piss off someone without said opinion being malicious in the first place.

@Lucifer666 men also GET raped at a much higher percentage than women, so your patriarch just collapsed.

Alright kiddos, I think it's about time to wrap this up. It's been a thrill from start to finish to say the least. *Waves to the back of the room* Mr. Moderator, could you please lock comments on this blog? Thanks ever so.

I have heard the equivalent quote about Mohamed re the revelation of the Quran.

Equally I have never been especially fond of education, the implication being a formal one, as the only means by which someone can know something. If for no other reason than I myself have read books and learned many things that no formally recognised educator ever directed me to do, and at the same time you also have people like Srinivasa Ramanujan who did some amazing work, by many accounts basically redoing mathematics from basic forms on up and then went and advanced maths beyond the level it started at.

@WeedZ Where'd you get that statistic? I'd wager that if that's true it's because it's younger boys getting raped by male or female authority figures
