Nintendo shut down Mario Maker on Wii U too early

I worked my ass off yesterday and recorded 5 hours of footage of me working on my last Mario Maker level. Then I found out that Nintendo shut everything down on March 31st and not April 1st, and this last send-off that I was working on has now gone to waste. Thank you Nintendo, very cool. Here is the level that I was working on. It was around 75-80% complete. I might finish it later, but all my motivation and time is just gone.



This just adds onto the pile of shit of things that make me suffer lately.

Had something similar with Disney Infinity....
(My very own Fault,bought the "Stuff" too late....)

Not nice.....but very usual.:(

how do you expect them to get people to RE-buy it at FULL PRICE on the switch if the wiiu one was still working?

New features? I mean, I've never played either of them, but I've heard that SMM2 added a lot (but also took away stuff like amiibo support)

Yeah Mario Maker 2 is one Switch game that's actually worth it. @Bladexdsl it's not a port, it's a whole sequel with a LOT of new features, online play, and a story mode. (Though online kind of sucks)

Yeah, but I bought Mario Maker 2 for an older brother of mine recently, and while I think he was subscribed to Nintendo's Internet service, this is a guy with a wife and a kid on the way who works all the time, and he sometimes has to go to physical therapy because the years are catching up to him, and the time to play video games just isn't there for him anymore.

Just so happens to be that I am one of the 7 Wii U owners on the planet. Never played Mario Maker 2, but it looks to be pretty content packed and not just a downright port. Too bad they got rid of Amiibo costumes though.

And now it's just a shame that I have to wait for a fan server that only 1/800th of the people that played MM1 know about.

Wow; uploading a video. That's a lot of effort for April Fool's Day; I wonder how deep this goes. I wouldn't put fake articles and posts past webmaster-prankers.
