Im already excited for a hacked switch 2

With T289 likely being the processor in the switch 2 and Linux already supporting it, im excited to see emulation performance on it. Looked up an ETA prime video testing a weaker Orin dev board & emu performance looks great.

Sure, when it gets hacked it'll get piracy and performance improvements and such, but I personally I think the Switch 2 will even eclipse the original for homebrew somehow. It'll be like an arm Steam Deck from team green.:gun:

You believe they screw up the security after the Switch? I guess these devices are so locked nowadays there is hardly a chance of succeeding.

Better idea in my opinion: Buy an open device and leave the locked stuff where it is. This is a solution as long as there are open devices.

Microsoft did their homework: no hacks and cracks since xbox one, that are 2 generations! not even a modchip!
Sony did sloppy home work so ps4 and ps5 have exploits en mass, but because of bug bounties they get released only after they are fixed.
Nintendo learned from the erista hardware flaw disaster and now only a modchip is a useful solution for the switch. i guess it will stay that way.
They will not loose face again because of Nvidia!

Actually there's not much interest on hacking an XBox when most games are already available on PC, it just doesn't make sense the effort.

So there's not a "big scene" for XBox stuff. Even less considering that by today, many XBox 360 consoles are already bricked, and so many One's are on its way to being deprecated by the user.

Microsoft is closing dev studios for a reason.

People will find a way, It's always the nintendo consoles that get hacked pretty thouroughly within their lifespan. Personally I won't care if a group like TX is the one to do it or a known vulnerability is exploited again like with the original switch. Hell, the current flashcarts might even work with the switch 2.

Yeah, I remember several years ago TX being vilified by the community because they were making money off piracy, and also because they borrowed a lot from Atmosphere for their SXOS. But the cold fact is that without TX doing the research & development on the Switch modchip, there probably wouldn't be modchips available now. The Switch would be as unhackable as the current XBOX consoles, except for the early v1 with the Nvidia bug.
