Why are Americans so freaking sensitive

*Disclaimer* if you get offended by anything I say, that is not my attention however, you'll be proving my point.

I've been thinking lately (a dangerous pastime I know) but I've noticed that Americans are extremely sensitive. What ever happened to "suck it up" or "get over yourself"? For example I have said that I do not agree with homosexuality but I still am friends with and love homosexual people despite me not agreeing with this lifestyle, of course I was still called homophobic and got a lot of hate by some pansies who couldn't respect other people's thoughts. Another example is the is viewpoints on celebrities and the like. I've noticed people being unnecessarily bashed for not liking a generally liked person or vice versa. The most extreme example is something I saw today. There was a video of a photographer being observed by a young elk. It showed mildly hostile behavior as it would bend it's head down and buck the man who was sitting on the ground. He stayed down so he wouldn't upset the elk and he got away unharmed. The elk was later put down for "repeated aggressive behavior". At least 80% of the comments said that the man had performed animal abuse because the elk was put down even though he did absolutely nothing to harm it. People went as far as to say that the man should have been put down. This begs the question. What causes us Americans to be so easily offended and hate others just because they differ in opinion? What do you guys think?

I don't know if anyone brought this up yet, but you don't know what "beg the question" means.

Also, it sounds more like you're the guy who can't accept that people don't agree with your disagreement.

Oh my favorite, people treating you as a war criminal if you don't agree with their side of an argument like in controversial debate; if you don't agree with their opinion and only their opinion, you're less than human, a bigot, a homophobe, misogynist or some other label.

@Eightcoins I consider any vegan who eat besides fruit and not planting the seed a hypocrite, unless it's purely for health.

you are not vegan if you eat anything thats animal products tho.
and I dont mind the ones that do it "for the animals" since well we got already too much enviromental factors from mass breeding and it isnt really good anyways.

before we burned stuff that made co2
there was 0,003% of it in the atmosphere
and now its 0,004%
(stopping to use oil as much is smart tho,since at some point it will be gone)
while with methan,way more entered the atmosphere due to mass breeding.

@Eightcoins To me, if you are digging out the root, collecting juice or cutting off leaves of a plant that's the same as hurting an animal. Only eating fruit is justified, but not everyone plant the seed after consuming them. So Vegans should stop pretending to be all merciful.

Like if you eat a apple with grubs/worms in it,even if you remove it,dont you destroy their enviroment if you pay that much attention to the effects you are causing?

Eggs are nothing but fertilized/aborted chicken fetuses, how's that for a macabre perspective on vegetarians/vegans who eat eggs? Or humanely slaughtered cattle, cows grow old and die anyway.

and you can add to that the fact that alot of food hygene laws are ignored during meat "production"

So has anyone considered the hypothesis that outrage is based on a neurological network structure in the brain, that people have a need to feel morally superior to their peers, and gain a fan base based on this predisposed need for approval from human interaction. Moral superiority and outrage has given humans a complex network of interaction and status among their peers, in which all humans contribute, males especially when they want to get laid trying to impress the female species on how moral they are. The outrage on homosexuality, animals, and social problems is a humans cry for attention to mate with the other sex.
