Step #1: .SHA verification of CTRNAND image...
Checking hash from .SHA file...
Failed, image corrupt or modified!
AUTO CTRNAND Transfer: failed

i've downloaded the torrent enough times. Anyone mind sending just the .sha?

It has been proven that safehax is picky sometimes and it won't boot with soundhax some type of compatibility issue. People that have had that problem report success with other exploits.

Ok, I'll try with Oothax then. Stopping on an attempt for a while means it isn't working right? I heard something about it taking a long time at one point. So if it stops and sits for a while, I should restart? Or is it doing it's thing?

It will run some white text with numbers and letters at the end and it will start increasing from 0 to 1 to 2 and so one. If you read the first two lines it will tell you that it will reach a certain number for it to be done. If it reaches that point then it goes black then it's alright it is doing its thing, if it's cut before that and the black screen stays for more than 30 sec then you need to start again.

It was on the first zip. Instead of copying arm9.bin from SafeA9LHInstaller, people often copy both arm9.bin and arm9loaderhax.bin, which the latter removes Luma's one.

To everyone who is stuck on Step 15, this may very likely be your problem.

After getting to that step in minutes, I spent hours trying everything to get past it. It wasn't until ^^^this post that double-checked @Hyoretsu's this very first part and boom, after something like 20 attempts at that stupid URL, instant success and I was done with everything in minutes.

HUZZAH!

As an FYI the "official" guide 3ds.guide has been updated with fasthax. While this guide was nice, it's missing a couple of things like backing up tickets and is more higher level overview.

Sorry to re post, but does anyone else see this or is this normal? Just want to make sure everything is successful before I proceed. :)

I finished everything but when I open luma it says "Configuration not found, using default values" it shows currently installed version as 6.6 (dev), 6.6 as latest version, and wants to update to normal version or latest hourly. Should I let it update or am I good to go?

Yeah I posted that a couple pages back. Posts get overlooked in this thread pretty easily since people are posting so often asking for help and bringing up new issues/errors constantly.

no luck.
Would like some assistance ^^;

Edit: to make my issue more clear.
Looks like you're on 2.1.0 right? Time to get your OTP.bin. Start here: https://3ds.guide/2.1.0-ctrtransfer If you've already have done the downgrade to 2.1.0 then scroll the bottom and continue on

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I'm going to repeat it again: http://3ds.guide is now fully updated and step by step walks through this entire process. It helps bypass some of these errors that people are seeing with black screens and flashing lights (it has troubleshooting steps and lists what to expect.) The guide is very well documented and explained. Check that out before going down this rabbit hole. The results should be the same, but that one is more hand-holdy.

I unzipped the Luma folder and renamed the .bin file to arm9.bin and placed it in the root of my sd card. I also made sure that I had no other .bin files on the root. The n3ds still does not boot into Luma....

Try booting it up with select held down, then the power button.

If that doesn't work, I suggest redoing your sd card with the "prep work" section starting here https://3ds.guide/installing-arm9loaderhax and then following along with that. Just back up everything on your sd card before you redo it!
